Trevor Noah Thanked Black Women In A Major Way During His "Daily Show" Farewell

    "I always tell people if you truly want to learn about America, talk to Black women."

    After seven years of hosting The Daily Show, Trevor Noah is saying goodbye to the late-night TV program, but before he bid farewell, he delivered a heartfelt message to Black women.

    During the final show on Thursday, Trevor thanked his faithful audience and viewers for tuning in each night. He then dedicated a "special shoutout" to Black women.

    He said that while he's been credited in the past for having grand ideas and being smart, the real credit belongs to the Black women in his life, like his mom, grandma, and aunt, who nourished and informed him.

    "But then in America as well," Trevor added. "I always tell people if you truly want to learn about America, talk to Black women."

    "Yeah, because unlike everybody else, Black women can't afford to fuck around and find out. Black people understand how hard it is when things go bad, especially in America."

    Even outside of America, in places like Brazil and South Africa, Trevor opened up about the knowledge and power that Black women hold. He then named some notable women he's had the honor of speaking with throughout his career, like Roxane Gay, Tressie McMillan Cottom, Zoé Samudzi, and Tarana Burke.

    "I'll tell you now — do yourself a favor: If you truly want to know what to do or how to do it or maybe the best way or the most equitable way, talk to Black women," he continued. "They're a lot of the reason that I'm here."

    He closed out the show by thanking his audience one last time. After his final word, audience members immediately met him with applause — giving him the sendoff he rightfully deserves.
