Response to The True Story That Inspired The Country Song Of The Year “I Drive Your Truck” Will Break Your Heart:
He is from my local military base, Fort Drum, in North New York. It’s so cool to see a song winning an award that’s roots came back to home, also sad at the same time.

River Rats…heyyy..that was created in Redwood,(Look it up) which is in North Country by Canada, which were okay if you take it. We don’t need no damn Redwood River Rats again.
Ughh I know he’s even way up here in Watertown…whyyyy. I don’t need to hear another commercial…
Yes, Essex County is surely North Country, but not by much. As is Syracuse considered Upstate, but again, not by much. Utica is the same way also. I do find New York awfully confusing when it comes to regions, but it is pretty hilarious to see people argue about it. Thank God I live wayyy up in the North Country so I know what region I’m in.
Actually, according to Wikipedia, these are the 10 regions of New York:
1.Western New York
4.Central New York
9.New York City
And if you click on Buffalo, it is considered Western New York, so that kind of lies in between, as does Rochester. But I wouldn’t consider either as Upstate. To my personal opinion, Upstate goes as low as Syracuse and not to far to the west. Then again, I live in Northern New York, and basically anything outside of it I consider gigantic (even Watertown). I have been only as far as Syracuse, so this would be my best guess. So yeah, I would say it is not Upstate.
I can relate to a lot of these things even though I live in Jefferson County. It’s gonna be HUUUGGGGGEEEEEEA! And who could forget Stewart’s?
