If you live in the U.S., you've probably seen Martinelli's drinks at your local grocery store. They're pretty well-known for their sparkling cider and apple juice.

Here's their plastic apple juice bottle. Cute, right? Well, not only does it ~look~ like an apple — it apparently sounds like one, too.

In a recent TikTok trend, people have been biting into the apple juice bottle and discovering that it actually sounds like you're biting into a real apple!!!
The crunch really takes people by surprise.
Anyone who previously believed the sound was fake seems to change their mind when they test it for themselves.
And apparently, you have to sip some of the apple juice first for it to work.
Just yesterday, YouTuber David Dobrik tried the challenge. He even captioned the video: "Hahaha okay I didn't think this was gonna be real."
I mean, look at David's friend Natalie's response. First, there's a bit of confusion — and perhaps some disbelief.

Then the moment of realization — it's real.

It's REAL!!!!!!!!

So, why does the Martinelli's bottle make that sound? Well, after trying the challenge for herself, TikTok user @iconiccpinkk looked into it — and it's actually pretty simple.
In the video, she cuts the bottle in half to reveal that it’s made with three layers of plastic. As a result, when people bite into the bottle, it makes a crunch sound — like they're biting into an apple.

Mystery solved!
