Nick Viall Reveals Why He Kept That Yellow Bracelet From His Date With Vanessa On During "The Bachelor"

    As if finding love on reality television wasn't enough, former star of ABC's The Bachelor Nick Viall is currently competing for the coveted Mirror Ball trophy on this season's Dancing With the Stars. The dancing wiz sat down with BuzzFeed to play with puppies (!!!!!) and answer YOUR most burning questions about love, life on television, the one and only Corinne, and his new whirlwind romance with fiancée Vanessa Grimaldi.

    If you could go back in time, what would you tell yourself before starting your journey on The Bachelor?

    Nick Viall: Don't do it! No, I'm just kidding. What would I tell myself? Keep my mouth shut, probably more often than I did in the first season. I was a little too opinionated, probably. But that's just who I am!

    What's been the hardest thing for you and Vanessa to adjust to since the finale aired?

    BuzzFeed

    NV: It's just kind of getting used to each other, in some ways. Vanessa and I, for the most part, have been living with each other, and that's obviously a big step in any relationship. You know, we've certainly been fast-tracking it from the very time we met, so that certainly has a lot of great excitement and also there's a lot of Oh, OK, this is really somethin'!

    You wore the yellow ZERO-G bracelet from your date with Vanessa on dates with other women. Why did you keep wearing it?

    NV: You know, I'm nostalgic and I just kept it on as a reminder to me of this process potentially working out.

    Did your opinion of Corinne change after the show aired?

    BuzzFeed

    NV: No, not really! My opinion of Corinne definitely changed over the course of the season while filming, but she was someone that I even had a hard time figuring out. I think America's opinion of Corinne and the evolution was kind of almost similar to mine.

    You were heartbroken twice on previous seasons. What made you want to take the risk again?

    BuzzFeed

    NV: Yeah, it sucked. It was heartbreaking, but at the same time I knew Andi [Dorfman] and Kaitlin [Bristowe] for about eight weeks. You get over it the same way you kind of get into it — it's rapid fire and these emotions, but once you remove yourself from that environment, while it's not easy, it probably goes quicker than say, someone who broke up with someone after a two-year relationship, or something like that.

    Is being a contestant on Dancing With the Stars anything like what you expected?

    BuzzFeed

    NV: It couldn't be more fun, and it's also incredibly exhilarating when you get done with a dance and you're like, That was amazing! You don't think about the fact that it's live and millions of people will be watching it — that doesn't even cross your mind. It's just the fact that you're in this big arena and it's filled with people screaming and cheering, and you're about to do something you don't even know what you're about to do and you barely know your steps.

    Where do you see yourself and Vanessa in the next five years?

    NV: I'm not a big planner, so I don't even know what I'm doing next week! So five years — who the heck knows. I don't see myself doing much reality TV after this. You know, Vanessa and I are obviously going to focus on our relationship and work on that, and I have been lucky enough to start my own business, which will be launching shortly — it's just a men's grooming like called The Polished Gent. That's gonna be my number-one priority outside of the relationship with Vanessa, and hopefully that takes up most of my time.

    And finally, any wedding plans?

    NV: No wedding plans, yet! Vanessa and I, we're taking things really slow and we're happy to do that. We've known each other for less than a year now. The Bachelor nation has a bit of a backlog with engaged couples, so there's plenty couples in line before us that have to tie the knot before we do.
