Zayn Malik has left the One Direction tour after being "signed off with stress".
According to The Mirror, the singer was due to film a commercial in Hong Kong this week before continuing with the Asian leg of the band's tour.
However, he will not be continuing with the scheduled performances and will be flying home to England instead.
The news was announced by his publicist, Simon Jones, on Twitter on Thursday.
The statement reads in full:
1D statement: Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate.
The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.
Of course, it wasn't long before fans on Twitter began to deluge him with well wishes.
In fact, #HaveAGoodRestZayn is already trending on the site.
The announcement comes just a day after photos emerged of Zayn with his arm round a woman while partying in Thailand.
Zayn is of course engaged to Perrie Edwards of Little Mix.
After the pictures emerged, he took to Twitter to slam "jealous fucks" and apologise for how the picture looked.
The band last performed in Hong Kong on Wednesday evening. It means that Zayn will miss the next concert date in the Philippines on 21 March.
Zayn's bandmates – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne – are also slated to perform in Manila on 22 March, before ending the Asian leg in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 25 March. They're then due to move on to South Africa.
It is not known at this time when Zayn will rejoin his bandmates.
A representative for One Direction has been contacted by BuzzFeed for comment.
