On 5 October 2005 our lives were changed forever when Stephenie Meyer released the first book of the Twilight Saga into the world.
It was a time before we knew how into the Twilight world we would become. Before Edward Cullen and Bella Swan were brought to life.
1. It was a time before we even knew the words Robert Pattinson existed.
2. He wasn't even "that guy from Harry Potter" just yet.
3. Kristen Stewart was that girl from Panic Room who looked like this.
4. Taylor Lautner was not quite at Jacob standards.
In fact, our lives were totally different in 2005. It was like a completely different world.
5. We'd only just heard of some singer called Rihanna.
6. And the Pussycat Dolls were just becoming a thing.
7. Before 2005 these films didn't even exist.
8. In our lives before Twilight Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still married.
9. We were only just getting into the second season of Lost and we didn't know WTF was going on.
10. And this was our reading material instead.
11. But that wasn't all. Pre-Twilight life meant being woken up by the playful ringtone from your Motorola Razr phone.
12. And you had to take your selfies with an actual camera.
13. Facebook was something that did not exist.
14. And Myspace was the be all and end all of literally everything.
15. As was IM-ing your friends. Constantly.
16. Before Twilight we had to agonise over which charity wristband to wear.
17. Online dating was frowned upon and Tinder was something we couldn't have anticipated.
18. Miley Cyrus wasn't famous and she looked as cute as this.
19. Tom Hardy was something we were unaware of.
20. Prince William had all this hair.
21. And Keira Knightley was dating Jamie Dornan. Before we could ever imagine a world in which we also had Christian Grey.
22. Before the Twilight universe existed, this is what you had to save your homework on.
23. And this is how you downloaded music.
24. You had only just learned that calling someone else fat wouldn’t make you any skinnier.
25. This was the height of fashion.
26. And we had no idea how good the rest of the books would be. Or how much we would fall in love with these two.
