Sam Smith Has Recorded The New James Bond Song

The man with the golden tongue.

Sam Smith has (finally) confirmed he's recorded the next James Bond theme tune.

Everyone from Muse to Radiohead were rumoured to be singing the theme tune for Sam Mendes' upcoming Spectre, which once again stars Daniel Craig.

But on Monday night Smith posted this big clue on his Twitter page, showing him wearing a ring embossed with the Spectre logo.

    As seen here.

An iconic ring and clapperboard from #SPECTRE, have been added to the Designing 007 exhibition @disenando007

And on Tuesday morning he confirmed the news.

This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song.

I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.

I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.

The song, which Smith secretly recorded earlier this year, is called "Writing's on the Wall".

You can pre-order 'Writing’s On The Wall' on CD or vinyl here http://t.co/7RpiBDtuUH, or on iTunes from midnight.

Smith told Radio 1 that he wrote the song in just 20 minutes, adding:

I'm so relieved to actually talk about this; this has been top-secret mission of my own...

I got called into the office with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes and they gave me the script. I read the script. They said, 'Have a go at the song.'
