I’ve had extremely good luck with craigslist places. Honestly my tip is to type keywords into craigslist. I am a designer and more specifically an industrial designer so I usually type that in and I will message those people first because we have the same career and same interests. Most people on Craigslist just apply anywhere but I think searching by interest is your best bet because not only will you find something faster you will definitely find cool people to live with. Trust me on this, I have lived in NYC and currently live in SF

Response to 30 Telltale Signs You’re From Houston:
I am from Houston, I grew up inside the loop. Which is a far contrast from most people who actually grow up in the suburbs. My teenage years were filled with hanging out in Montrose, the heights, and museum district. I live in NYC now and I have to say, Houston has much better food, NYC is so bland it’s like eggs benedict and brunch, New York does not have good tex-mex, bar-b-q or cajun, and everything is just plain bland except for the asian food ( which is actually better than Houston)I also want to rant that GOOD food is actually cheap. also NYC is so dirty no one has dignity pissing on streets and littering. Houston is way cleaner, sorry new yorkers you can’t deny that everywhere you go here it smells like garbage.
