21 Pieces Of Menswear From J. Crew That Are Totally Worth Checking Out

Time to make a few key additions to the old wardrobe.

    1. A pair of durable leather Sperry (for J.Crew) chukka boots with a reinforced leather sole, because it's always funny to say the word "chukka."

    2. A pair of 770 straight-fit stretch chino pants with just a little extra flex built-in for when you need it (and you most assuredly will). Call them khakis, if you will, we don't care.

    3. A pair of naval-striped socks constructed from a cotton/nylon blend (for some added stretch) that'll give that area between your shoes and your pant cuff some extra pop.

    4. A soft short-sleeve linen shirt with a button-down collar, which can easily become part of any summer uniform because it works for just about any occasion (except weddings).

    5. A Ludlow slim-fit wool blazer that is perhaps the most unassailable article of clothing you can have hanging in your closet. This is an investment that will always pay off because it never goes out of style.

    6. An American wool tie in classic navy, because you don't need a rack full of neckwear, but you do need one solid tie that can be worn with just about anything.

    7. A pair of stretch chino dock shorts with an elastic waistband and drawstring that don't need to be worn anywhere near a dock, or any body of water for that matter. Show off those knees wherever you please.

    8. A pair of stretch slim-fit chino pants in chambray, which is a fabric more commonly known to be used in shirts. But we say its time that your pants enjoy the same level of comfort and style.

    9. An everyday cashmere V-neck sweater that works just as well paired with a T-shirt as it does a shirt and tie. Also, J. Crew is part of Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA), "an international nonprofit working to create a more sustainable cashmere supply chain."

    10. A pair of New Balance X 791 nylon sneakers (exclusive to J. Crew) with a perforated "N" logo that newbies will soon learn are truly some of the most comfortable kicks out there.

    11. An Abingdon waxed canvas tote bag that's "hunting-gear inspired" but is more functional for a trip to the beach or the store rather than out in the woods in a tree stand.

    12. A cotton polo shirt that's made from garment-dyed slub to achieve a perfectly imperfect color (one that might run when mixed with other clothes in the wash, just a heads-up on that).

    13. A pair of 1040 Athletic-fit stretch chino pants for those looking for a more relaxed cut in the hips and thighs but with just a bit of taper on the leg. Wear these anywhere, with anything. They're that easy.

    14. A pair of maze print seven-inch stretch eco pool shorts, because sometimes you want a bathing suit that can pass for a pair of shorts. This one has a 7-inch inseam with a mesh lining, zip back pockets, and a button-front pouch.

    15. An "essential" crewneck T-shirt in lightweight heathered cotton and recycled poly that's sure to become your go-to tee because it's so damn comfortable.

    16. A pair of Unisex 1990 MacAlister suede boots, for those times when you don't want something too fancy for your feet but feel that sneakers or flip flops aren't quite the right option.

    17. A pair of cotton/nylon medium dot socks (with some stretch) that really make a statement (what that statement is, however, is completely up to you. Maybe it's that you like red polka dots and that's all).

    18. A pair of 250 skinny-fit stretch chino pants that are J. Crew's slimmest silhouette, meaning they're tapered through the leg and slim through the hip. These are definitely the pants for those who skip leg day.

    19. A Ludlow Slim-fit unstructured stretch seersucker blazer, because sometimes you need to look nice when it's hot out and seersucker is a warm-weather fabric that'll keep you feeling cool and looking just the same.

    20. A pair of jersey pajama shorts for doing anything and everything that isn't socially acceptable to do in just your underwear. These are hanging-out, dog-walking, too-lazy-to-put-on-anything else shorts.

    21. A a super soft, cotton/recycled poly Crab graphic T-shirt because crustaceans give us so much (food, fashion) and ask so little in return. Show your support with this underrated underwater hero.

Even if you don't need a jacket and tie, you're going to look (and feel) this good!
