Similar to Gladiator, I'd have to say Braveheart, although our the heroes died for different reasons. You could say that Maximus' was a happy ending, in a way, because the slave gladiators went free, Commodus was dead, and Maximus was reunited with his family. But William Wallace…Â
Gladiator, absolutely. When Maximus achieves happiness in the afterlife and that moment with Juba at the bottom of the Colosseum floor, now free and hopeful for the future. What a beautiful moment!
I absolutely adore the ending of the Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It's that Walter has his hard work pay off and be recognized that's so powerful, for me. And he finally gets the girl he likes!
