36 Mother's Day Gifts To Just Give Yourself

In the words of Ariana Grande, "I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it."

    the set

    2. A bag of low-carb, sugar-free, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free brownie mix that you can use to whip up a sweet treat that everyone in the family can enjoy regardless of diet restrictions. Just be sure to stash a few extras away for yourself since, you know, it *is* Mother's Day.

    4. Or a dainty zodiac necklace so no one will ever have to ask you, "Hey, what's your sign?" You can also have up to five birthstones added!

    5. A question a day journal if you've always like the idea of journaling but never found the time (or energy) to make it part of your schedule. This gives you just one question each day to consider, and after five years (!) you'll be able to look back at all of your answers and really chart your growth.

    6. A decadent cacao spread that has reviewers swearing off Nutella entirely in favor of smearing this on everything they can find.

    8. Kirby and the Forgotten Land for Nintendo Switch, a brand-new 3D platforming adventure starring everyone's favorite pink hero who floats around and sucks up bad guys to gain their powers, Kirby. It's easily played in digestible chunks, making it a great game to pick up in your brief periods of free time. Besides that, it's ridiculously fun and absolutely oozing with charm.

Jenae: "I've been playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and though I'm still early on in the game, it's been an absolute delight every time I pick it up. I love how digestible it is — you can pick it up and play through a stage in 10, maybe 15 minutes tops depending on how speedy you are, which makes it a great fit for anyone with a hectic schedule, like many moms. If you loved Super Mario Odyssey, you'll find a lot to love here as well, and like Odyssey, it *also* has two-player local co-op so a friend, significant other, or even one of the kiddos can grab a second controller and jump into the action as well. If you're a Kirby fan, it doesn't get much better than this."

Get it from Amazon for $54.97+ (originally $60; available physically or as a digital code, which can be redeemed on the Nintendo eShop). It's playable on any Nintendo Switch console, including Switch OLED and Switch Lite.

    9. An Ember mug if you're constantly pouring yourself a hot mug of coffee or tea, then forgetting it while you chase around the kids or get busy with work on your computer. When you come back to it, it'll still be toasty warm, so you can finally enjoy your favorite hot bevy on your own schedule.

    10. An Atlas Coffee Club subscription to ensure you stay well-stocked on coffee (and well-caffeinated), because it's truly the worst to wake up and realize you forgot to buy more beans during that last hectic grocery store trip. Bonus: You'll get to try coffee from all over the world, so you'll feel well-traveled without even getting on a flight.

    11. A high-quality, extra-cushioned Lululemon yoga mat worth treating yourself to whether you're a longtime yogi or just starting out.

Jenae: "I have a very similar Lululemon yoga mat that I absolutely love! I use it not just for yoga but also for all of my indoor workouts (which I do with The Mirror, also from Lululemon — you can read my thoughts on that here). It's far more comfortable than performing moves directly on carpet (and certainly hard floors) and offers really nice padding for your knees and hands when you're down there doing a cat-cow pose. Its rubber base keeps it from slipping around too. It's super easy to clean with just a damp rag after a particularly sweaty session and dries fairly fast, after which point you can just roll it up and stash it in a corner or closet. Aside from its functionality, I adore how pretty it is, especially the colorful pastel swirl designs."

Get it from Lululemon for $98 (available in 13 styles and one size, which is 71x26 inches). You can check out their other yoga mat styles here, as there are options that are extra long or textured, for instance.

    12. A customized rubber stamp to place your personal mark on your new and well-worn books to help your library feel specially curated. It also means that friend from your book club remembers *exactly* where to return your novel after they're done borrowing it.

stamp that says from the library of claire paige

    13. An enormous, 5-pound bag of gummy bears because you shouldn't have to wait for Halloween to go ham on a bag of candy if you so desire. Sharing is optional!

    pile of gummy bears

    14. A winged eyeliner stamp so you never have to stress about whether you have time to put on eye makeup before you walk out the door (because if you're like me, doing it manually usually involves redoing one or both sides at least once). Be prepared for the other moms to start asking how your eyeliner has such perfect wings — it's up to you if you wanna share the secret!

Promising review: "I like makeup. I'm not an influencer or whatever; I'm just a Midwestern, middle-aged mom who LOVES A GOOD WING and who has tried every liner out there. I tried this because of BuzzFeed, and I'm not disappointed!! It's stayed dark, smudge-free, and sharp. I'm impressed. I definitely recommend this product, and will definitely buy it again! These wings are idiot-proof, Missouri-summer proof, and allergy-proof!!!!!" —Sarah Jackson

Get it from Amazon for $14.97+ (available in three wing sizes and a combo pack with all three if you want ~options~).

    15. An AncestryDNA kit so you can finally satisfy that curiosity about where in the world you came from and even connect with others who share your DNA. It can pinpoint not just the countries you're from, but even the specific regions within them, letting you trace your ancestors' journeys over time. Pretty neat!

Get it from Ancestry for $59+ (originally $99; available in other discounted tiers too). You can also save up to 30% on a membership for Mother's Day.

    16. A set of adorable cat spoons, purrrfect for stirring your morning tea or cream into coffee, making the ritual feel a little extra special. They even hang onto the side with their lil' arms so they don't slip down into the drink. Pure cuteness.

    17. A Baby (Yoda) on Board sticker so you can flex your Star Wars fandom *and* warn other drivers to be careful while you're out and about with the family.

    18. And an itty-bitty Baby Yoda speaker perfect for whipping out at the family barbecue or picnic when you want to get some music going. It may be small, but reviewers say it's loud for its size.

    19. A DIY miniature bookstore model because hey, you might not be running your dream business just yet, but this is the next best thing in the meantime. It also comes in an art studio or greenhouse design!

    20. A pair of dainty heart-shaped hoops for a cute gift to yourself, because what better gift is there than self-love? All right, cheesiness aside, these look really cool on your ears without being too distracting or heavy.

These have a high-rise waist, and it's recommended that you size up if you're looking for a roomier fit!

Promising review: "I really love these pajamas. They are so comfy and soft! I was concerned that they would be too cool to the touch to wear in the winter, but they feel wonderful in any weather. I carry most of my weight in my tummy and most shorts with elastic cinch and are not comfy, but the waistband on my pajamas is so well-made! No pinching or muffin-top here! I'm in love." —Janine W.

Get it from Lunya for $188 (available in sizes XS–2X and in 10 colors, though sizing varies by color; also available with three letters embroidered on the left chest for $20 more).

    24. A brightening face mask, which is basically like an at-home facial without the hassle or extra cost of going to the spa. 25. A Selenite skyscraper for your crystal collection or other magical-themed decor. Selenite is a stone for mental clarity, flexibility, and decision-making, according to enthusiasts, so it sure doesn't hurt to have around while you're on mom duty.

    26. A mini illuminated relaxation waterfall to help you recenter and block out the noise for a little while. The pump itself is quiet, but the gentle sound of trickling water is just enough to drown out loud thoughts and help you feel calm and relaxed. This would be great to put in your home office or bedroom.

Promising review: "Awesome addition to my workspace environment. I've tried several fountains so far. This one is awesome, the pump is quiet, as is the water, it simply provides a really nice environmental impact on my workspace. I run it up to eight hours in a day, use distilled water only and clean it periodically, and it's running just like new after several weeks. Not all of the fountains that I've tried work quite so well, I'm impressed and happy with this purchase. Six-month update: If I could give this thing 6 stars, I would. It runs so quiet, and I nearly let it go dry last weekend *(three-day weekend and forgot to turn it off...) — once I filled it up again it was just as quiet as ever. I'm beyond impressed. Still cleaning it periodically and using only distilled water." —Rod

Get it from Amazon for $29.99.

    27. A subscription to Book of the Month so you always have a good book waiting for you when you finally have a second to yourself.

    28. A bottle of ultra-fancy olive oil you can whip out for those fancier at-home date night meals or any dish that could use a little extra oomph. It has a smooth, nutty flavor profile with subtle tomato and green pear notes — just imagine sautéing some fresh veggies in this stuff.

    29. A chunky knit satin-lined beanie to keep your head warm on chilly days and hair pushed back without disrupting your curls or hair style. This small biz also makes a satin-lined baseball cap with a scrunchie-style back that allows for multiple hair styles, great for those busy summer days and trips where you're running around.

    30. A double-walled glass with a charming upside-down critter design that any young kiddos will most definitely want to use too, but thankfully it's fairly resistant to drops. It might seem a bit childish, but none of us is too old to laugh at an upside-down bear filled with milk.

    31. A splurge-worthy Hydrow Rower so you never again have to use that machine at the gym whose previous user didn't wipe down their seat (ugh). Paired with its membership that grants access to over 3,000 on-demand workouts and daily live workouts with real trainers, the Hydrow rower gives you a killer workout right from home, which means more time in your day for getting things done and making time for yourself!

    Hydrow

Promising review: "Our Hydrow rocks! I always liked working out on a rower at the gym. After deciding to set up a home mini-gym with a rower as the centerpiece, I read a ton of reviews on various machines. It didn’t take long to conclude Hydrow was the way to row. The network of content and how it’s presented is so user-friendly. The feeling I get working up a sweat while seemingly and convincingly rowing on some of the planet’s most beautiful and iconic bodies of water defies explanation. There are even several live rowing opportunities you can participate in on a daily basis. All my workout stats are visible in real-time and preserved, allowing me to 'feel' the progress I’m making." —BucknKnox

Get it from Hydrow for $2,495 (available with or without a fitness subscription).

It's a gorgeous pan, but aesthetics aside, it's also remarkably versatile tool that can do it all: braise, sear, steam, strain, sauté, fry, boil, serve, and even store. It has a slippery non-stick surface to put an end to your days of scrubbing off burnt-on food and comes with other handy features, like a mesh basket for steaming and a wooden spoon that can rest on the handle while food cooks.

Promising review: "This stuff is amazing. I keep finding things to put it on. It definitely has a kick but you get used to it after a few times. I’ve used it on veggies (acorn squash was awesome), steak, salmon, and chicken nuggets that I stole from my kids. All awesome. The only thing it didn’t go great on was tacos. But you win some, you lose some. The sweetness of the honey just didn’t have a place on tacos. Love this stuff, though." —A. Shank

Get it from Amazon for $10.99+ (available in three sizes and multiple pack sizes).
