After a massive summer hit that tops the charts, your band kinda fizzles away. Maybe you’ll find some new friends to jam with at the weekend as a side gig. You’ll always be remembered as one of those one-hit wonder “hey whatever happened to those guys?” bands. Maybe you’ll catch your tune in an elevator someday.

Ugh, you don't quite make it

You make it big and live a busy life on the road, and the fans adore you. Your sound grows as you do and your eighth album is worlds apart from your first. After a solid 20 years or so you break up, but you eventually get back together for a reunion tour or two.

You hit the mainstream

You were born to be up on stage. Your band has made it to the top and everyone around the world knows your name. Sure, it has its ups and downs and you sometimes miss the anonymity – but hey, you’re living your dream.

You make it all the way

You quickly rise to fame, tour the world, and party hard. However, you realise early on that the band’s trajectory and your personal desires aren’t in line, so you cut your ties to pursue your own thing. The fans are torn and there’s a touch of animosity and shady tweets between you and your old bandmates, but you all move forward eventually.

You make it big but you leave the band and go solo

You aren’t exactly topping the charts but you have a solid group of devoted fans who adore you. You earn enough to keep doing what you love and the relationship between the band is stronger than most. Every time someone at a gig tells you how much your music has meant to them it makes it all worth it.

You gain a small cult following
