Tell Us About The Celebrity Who Helped You Come Out

We love a positive role model! πŸ’œ

Celebrities have a lot of influence over the world of pop culture. Whether they're influencing new fashion trends, popular TV shows, food/drinks, etc., their choices can really impact the public. Celebrities often inspire people on a personal level as well. Their confidence, uniqueness, acceptance, and advocacy can be really impactful for people, especially folks who are discovering new parts of their identity.

Because celebrities have such a pull on society, celebs who are part of the LGBTQ+ community or are fierce allies can really help people discover and accept their own sexuality or gender identity.

Perhaps you felt really inspired by Dan Levy's portrayal of David Rose on Schitt's Creek and felt very represented by his character's open and proud pansexuality. It felt nice to see a beloved pansexual character on screen, and it helped you come out as pan to your friends and family.

Or perhaps celebrities, like Halsey, who are adamant about bi visibility have actively helped you own and embrace your own bisexuality.

Or maybe you've always been inspired by Laverne Cox's advocacy, and her work as a proud trans woman made you feel less alone in your own transition journey.

Is there a particular celebrity who, in some way, shape, or form helped you come out? How and why? We'd love to hear your story, so please share in the comments below or submit anonymously using this form! Your submission may be featured in a BuzzFeed Community post!
