It's Time We Talk About Why The Ibis Is Actually Iconic

Get out of here with your bin chicken slander.

I have a confession to make — you know those huge black and white birds that everyone in Australia seems to make fun of? Well, I kind of dig them.

There are SO MANY reasons why the ibis is iconic — and I'm not just referring to their aspirational title of "Bin Chicken".

First of all, they're super resilient. I mean, they discovered that the process of filling their bellies would be much easier if they just dug through our trash.

Plus, them eating that food means they're the front liners, battling the country's major food waste issue*.

And yes, they may make a mess in the process. But doesn't everyone?

Let's not forget about how they'll go out of their way to steal a fresh lunch should you forget to guard your food while dining outdoors.

Don't even get me started on their gorgeous plumage. This is a bird even Moria Rose herself would draw inspiration from.

Long story short, I know all you haters are just jealous that you will never be as brave or cunning as our nation's delightful bin chickens.
