From Rihanna To Kylie Jenner And BLACKPINK, Let's Dive Into What Celebrities Wore To Coachella 5 Years Ago Vs. Now

There is some major fashion inspo to be found here. 🌴

Coachella has returned once again. And for celebrities, it's the most perfect place to be spotted for your love of music and your most festival-forward ~fashun~ looks.

Now five years ago doesn't seem like too long ago, but since fashion moves fast, we have to wonder, have celebrity Coachella outfits withstood the test of time?

    Let's take a look.

    Here we goooo —

Bam! To start, we have none other than Leonardo DiCaprio in 3D-looking sunnies and his signature hoodie at the festival. Plus, a chain. He wanted to accessorize.

We then have the ever fashion-forward Rihanna, iced out and in sporty neon pink.

Who then changed into this high-fashion incognito outfit to watch some of the performances in the crowd.

Then, we have a wee Chloe and Halle Bailey in pops of color, looking cute and very festival-friendly.

Unexpectedly, baller Blake Griffin wore something along the lines of Miami (?) meets Coachella vibes, which honestly, fun, fun.

Kylie, in her wig era! She donned a bright neon pink wig and latex for her time at the festival.

Sis Kendall Jenner went for a sportier look in a crop top, utility pants, and a small crossbody bag.

Fashionistas Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) chose a classic white and denim look. Whoa, those earrings.

Justin Bieber, in his long-hair-don’t-care era, rocked a tropical two-piece.

A$AP Rocky wore all-white and a pair of orange sunnies, further accessorized by puffs of smoke.

Gabrielle Union, from her fit to her accessories and that fierce look, brought it. Check, check.

Vanessa Hudgens, a Coachella kween if there ever was one, went for a boho-meets-steampunk vibe for 2018.

Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, another Coachella kween, kept it cool in a white mesh dress layered over a white bikini and some fun neon socks.

Amber Rose had fun with it in her signature blond buzz cut and a futuristic body-con bodysuit.

Ok, let's pop back into 2023!

Alessandra Ambrosio is back at it, and she's got that neon, electric, boho look down.

Lil Nas X went for a breezy neon cowboy look for one of the days, then rocked some color with a pink furry hat the next, which I want.

Jisoo of BLACKPINK wore a cutout silver top outfit to celebrate PINKCHELLAAA, then went incognito to check out Gorillaz.

Fellow BLACKPINK member Rosé joined Jisoo for PINKCHELLA and shared her take on personalized BLACKPINK merch. She then switched it up for a street-style inspired sporty look, repping Greenbay.

BLACKPINK's Lisa went for a retro black-and-white skirt and bolero ensemble and took a photo with Dominic Fike. (It's fun seeing celebs mesh, no?) She also supported her brand ambassador role for fashion house Celine as she enjoyed the festival with Rosé.

BLACKPINK's Jennie went for a full retro Y2K look while she hung out with The Idol co-star The Weeknd's partner, Simi Haze.

Kylie kept it retro with the long denim '90s-style skirt, a white leather jacket, and matching sunnies. No wig in sight.

Kendall chose a more cow-girlish theme, donning bootcut jeans, and on another day wore a denim skirt and cowboy boots.

Hailey Bieber, this year as well, went for the classic denim and white look but accessorized it with a chunky black belt and gold chains.

Justin Bieber chose a tie-dye outfit for one of the days, then ended up covered in streamers.

Madison Bailey of Outer Banks kept it monochromatic and chic with a macrame crop top and matching skirt and boots.

Charli D’Amelio and Landon Barker looked like a pretty Gen-Z pair — Charli in breezy white and Landon in a Canadian tuxedo of sorts.

Charli then made a bold move by CHOPPING HER LOCKS AND GOING BLONDE on the last day. Here she is in all-black and matching with her beau.

Celebrity make-up artist Patrick Ta bumped into his buddy, influencer Alix Earle, in the crowds. Patrick kept it clean and chic, while Alix donned a daring all-mesh dress.

Actually, Alix Earle served a lot of fun looks over the weekend.

Shawn Mendes wore a scruff, a very fitted tee, and khakis, and hm, didn't think fitted tees were all that attractive until this look.

Camila Cabello went for fun and flirty, copping a cute top and some utilitarian denim — which she was spotted in with ex Shawn.

Storm Reid stunned, copping a shimmery top and denim shorts.

Amber Rose was back at it and in her signature body suit! One was a flower print, then the other was a shiny silver one that looks really fun to dance in.

Ariana Madix and Scheana Shay of the Vanderpump Rules gang both were festive for the festival. Ariana went for a more casual look, and Scheana chose the electric festival route.

There you have it, a rundown of some of the best celebrity looks spotted at Coachella in 2018 and 2023. Turns out, the fashion in 2018 isn't so bad, especially considering when it comes to festival wear, it's really part-costume, part-fashion. Anything along the lines of boho, neon, cowboy, or retro looks like it works for the most part. One thing, though, the celebrity landscape has changed, and well, I guess that means more people to follow.
