    Noah (who plays Peter K.) was almost cast as the boy-next-door, Josh!

    1. The author of the book, Jenny Han, made a cameo during the dance scene in Lara Jean's flashback.


    She told The Mary Sue, "I kept trying to hype [the kids] up and be like, ‘Guys, this is supposed to be fun! Please, dance harder! Really get into it!’"

    2. During the pre-read part of the audition, Lana Condor (who plays Lara Jean) recalled Noah Centineo (Peter K.) sitting down next to her and asking if she wanted to run lines!

    Lana told Vulture, "I auditioned, I did pre-read. And I actually saw Noah in my pre-read. After that I did callbacks, and producer sessions, and director sessions, and chemistry reads, and finally booked it. I screamed bloody murder when I got the call from my agent that I got it. It was seriously a dream come true."

    3. Noah was almost cast at Josh (Margot's boyfriend who lives next door) and not Peter.


    Director Susan Johnson told Indiewire, “I initially was thinking of Noah for Josh, because I thought, ‘Oh, he seems like the boy next door,’ but then once I saw Lana and Noah’s chemistry I knew we had to go that direction. Israel was great with Janel. I thought that fit really well.”

    4. Lana also stated that her and Noah had fantastic chemistry right from the get-go.

    5. Jenny Han recalls some people in the industry suggesting she white-wash her main character, but she firmly insisted on having an Asian cast.

    "I think that one of the biggest struggles with it was to find the right partners who would agree to cast an Asian-American family, and to have Lara Jean, specifically, be Asian. That was the biggest challenge," Jenny Han told Teen Vogue.

    6. Noah said he and Lana ate cheeseburgers before the big kiss. YUM.


    "You know it tasted like cheeseburgers," Noah told Shine On Media at the premiere.

    7. It was 95 degrees in the middle of summer when they shot the hot tub scene.


    They had to bring in the snow and the "steam" is actually dry ice.

    10. Jordan Burtchett (aka John Ambrose) originally went after the role of Peter, but the studio told him he was definitely a John.


    11. Emilija Baranac (who played Gen) didn't hear she'd booked the role until they were halfway through filming the movie!


    She told Shine On Media that she attempted to channel Regina George when acting as Gen.

    13. Noah's favorite scene to film was the one where he and Lara Jean bonded in Peter's kitchen.


    14. Janel's favorite scene to film was the bedroom scene with her, Lara, and Kitty after Lara figures out [spoiler redacted] sent the letters.


    "We could NOT stop laughing! We couldn't get it together!" she told Frolic.

    15. Lana said it wasn't super hard to pretend to faint during the track scene because she was pretty exhausted from filming. This was her first leading role in a movie!


    16. Lana's favorite scene to film was the hot tub scene with Peter.
