Promising review: "I have watched TikTok after TikTok before buying this, and it has saved many of my clothes that I considered not wearing anymore. For example, sweatpants after a few months of wear and washing get extremely linty. This has saved them and they look almost new." —Sasha

Get it from Amazon for $18.39+ (available in six colors and two styles).

    2. A set of four biodegradable, machine-washable Swedish dish cloths — they're super absorbent and designed with a blend of cotton and wood for easier scrubbing. Each one of these can replace over a DOZEN paper towel rolls. The Brawny paper towel man is shaking.

The list magnetizes to the fridge, and has the meal plan on one side, and a perforated "shopping list" you can tear off and take with you on the other side.

Promising review: "I’ve been starting to get into meal prepping and this planner really helps! I like being able to look up recipes on my phone, then write down whatever ingredients I still need on the grocery list section of this planner. Its being magnetic is cool because you can hang it on the fridge. I love how the grocery list section can be ripped off so you can take it to the store, but the daily meal plans remain on the fridge so you can stay organized. This is a very simple idea, but it’s cute and helps keep me organized and motivated to plan out my meals." —Samantha M.

Get it from Amazon for $9.95.

    5. An enzyme-based laundry stain remover that works its magic in one wash to help you instantly get rid of all that discolored dried sweat, oil stains, or deodorant residue on your favorite clothes, so you don't have to waste money replacing them — literally all you have to do is spray it the stain putting it in the wash.

Puracy is a Texas-based, family-owned small business specializing in plant-based, chemical-free, hypoallergenic home products, with a donation made to local families in need with a portion of every purchase.

Psst — this spray also does a number on all those other miscellaneous stains in your life, like wine, coffee, soy sauce, makeup, and period blood! I recently bought this to test it for myself, and can attest to how well it works to get period blood out even after you've tried something else. I stained a pair of beloved bright-blue bike shorts in my sleep and tried to get it out with soap and water, but the stain was still there when it came out of the wash. I treated it with this, stuck it back in the wash, and BOOM, it's like it never happened (I panicked before I could get a before and after, please forgive me, laundry gods).

Promising review: "For whatever reason, I am ALWAYS spilling things on my shirts and I cook every night (sometimes I remember the apron, sometimes I don't). My clothes are a mess by the end of the day. I'm not proud of it, but there it is. I have tried EVERYTHING there is to remove stains and this is the absolute BEST thing out there. (There is simply not a major stain remover that I have not tried.) The only thing close is a long pre-soak (I mean like six hours) in Oxyclean. With Puracy, you get the best result by doing it well in advance, but for me that is another plus because I would far rather spray them when I put them in the hamper than do it all at once just before I do the laundry. It seems to get everything out and I've never had any trouble with damaged fabric. I don't really review very much, but this is seriously outstanding." —NYC Buyer

Each of these works for up to three months, so they'll more than pay for themselves in produce you'll save!

Promising review: "Easily one of my favorite Amazon purchases this year. Has literally doubled the life of our produce and paid for itself in less than a month. This is one of those things you wish you'd learned about years ago! A real money saver." —Ryan A

    7. A rose gold rechargeable electric lighter you can use to replace all your old gas ones. This one is not only chic as heck, but completely flameless, and made with a long stem so you can use it to light gas burners and larger candles without dealing with an open flame.

This also comes in other pretty colors, but I am especially partial to this one because I bought it for my parents (their kitchen is entirely pink and one of my favorite places on Earth), and this was SO EASY to use — not to mention super safe! I'm a big weenie about fire (LOL, self-preservation) so I've always stuck to extended-arm gas lighters, but this is much better for the environment (plus cuter), so I feel a lot better about using it. You can read my full review of the Leejie electric lighter for more deets!

Promising review: "Works like a charm. I saw this on a TikTok. Knew immediately that I needed it. I love candles and this is so much better than a match or lighter. It’s kept a charge for months. I use it several times a month." —dwhite3012

    8. A "Bread Buddy" dispenser that keeps sandwich bread fresh by ensuring it stays *way* more airtight than it does in just the bag alone, and also lets you use the bread bag in a clever way to dispense slices one by one. Tons of reviewers are noting how much longer their bread stays fresh (and how much easier it is to store without worrying about it getting smushed!).

Promising review: "The Buddeez Sandwich Bread Dispenser is great! It does exactly what it was intended for. I live alone and I don't quite go through bread often enough before the last quarter section of the loaf starts to go stale. I was originally looking for something to put a loaf of bread in as a shell for my vacuum sealer, that would keep the bread from getting crushed from the pressure. This dispenser solved all of my problems. Thank you!" —DRMcQuaig

    9. cold brew coffee maker so gloriously easy to use that all you have to do is stick your favorite ground coffee in the filter, seal the airtight lid on top, and pop it in the fridge overnight. Boom, 4 cups of cold brew without wasting a bunch of plastic cups (and money!!) to get it in person.

Promising review: "I LOVE this product so much! I drink iced coffee on the daily but the system I had just wasn't cutting it for me. I didn't know how to brew cold coffee at home (all we have is a Keurig, and there's no cold brew option) so I would go buy iced coffee from Dunkin' every morning. Now don't get me wrong, i love my Dunkin', but I wanted to find a way to be able to make that same iced coffee at HOME, and I think my wallet and gas tank wanted me to figure that out too. I found out about this product through TikTok and it is a GAME CHANGER. All you have to do is put coffee grounds in the filter, fill up the main compartment three-quarters full with water (I use water from my fridge), screw the filter into the lid and screw the lid shut, shake it a little to put the coffee grounds to work, and let it do its magic for 12–24 hours! This is probably the best investment I've ever made. You need this!!" —Carmen E.

Get it from Amazon for $22.42+ (available in three colors and two sizes).

    10. And if you're taking that coffee to go, an insulated tumbler that tens of thousands of reviewers swear by, and for good reason — it comes with two lids, one hot and one cold, so you can enjoy your iced *or* hot beverage depending on which way the temperature swings.

Reviewer holding marbled white cup with a straw
Reviewer holding the light pink version

Promising review: "Another 'TikTok made me do it' purchase. I love this tumbler. This is the most gorgeous simple tumbler you could get. It comes with two different lids, one for straws, and one for sipping. It also comes with two plastic straws but you can use stainless steel ones instead if desired. The cup keeps your drinks cold or hot and is fairly durable. Although the straw lid is not 'spill proof' it is fairly resistant. My 2-year-old loves to carry it around and use the straw, it usually doesn't leak if it's knocked over! Overall the wait for this particular color is well worth it and I plan to buy more!" —Sinaxis

Get it from Amazon for $19.99 (available in 41 colors and six sizes).

    11. A set of reusable silicone Stasher bags you can get in a ton of bright, fun colors and different sizes to help significantly cut down your plastic use, saving both your money *and* the environment. Plus, these work in more than just the fridge — they're freezer- and microwave-safe, too.

    Amazon

Promising review: "I have been using these for about two years and let me tell you, they look like the day I bought them! I was using them for school lunches, but now with the stay at home orders, I’ve begun making batches of rice and pasta and freezing those with these bags. They work great and heat up in the microwave beautifully. No damage to the bags at all! I actually ordered some more just to have plenty on hand since I’m using more of them now than in the past. I have tried other brands of reusable storage bags that got pitted and messed up in the microwave. These may cost a little more, but they are almost indestructible and last a long long time! Did I mention you can throw them in the dishwasher? Just open the bag and fit it onto the upper rack spikes and they wash up great. I just shake them out and let them air dry. I’m not using plastic bags anymore! Thanks for the great product." —John S.

Get it from Amazon for $9.21+ (available in four sizes and eight colors).

    12. A jar of TikTok's beloved The Pink Stuff, a cleaning paste so powerful that reviewers use it for even the gnarliest and oldest of caked-on pan stains, sparing you the money and hassle of getting new ones.

    A pan stained with grime
    Metal pan gleaming without stains

Promising review: "This stuff is a do it all cleaner!!! I took it all over my home. From kitchen to bath to laundry room and it removed alllll the stains!!! Brought my chrome faucet's shine back, made my oven cleaning sooo much easier, and took the dullness out of my sinks! Get this one for an all-around all-purpose cleaner!! 👏🏾👏🏾 As instructed, rub gently as it is abrasive. And no harsh smells." —Tierra

Get it from Amazon for $5.97.

    13. A self-closing, mess-free toothpaste cap to help manage the amount of toothpaste they're dispensing, since often people use too much. Reviewers also love this for keeping the tube from getting all crusty at the top (and sparing them the time putting the lid back on every time they use it!).

Promising review: "I saw these on an Amazon review video on YouTube and figured I'd give them a try because my boyfriend tends to leave the toothpaste bottle a complete mess and I can't stand it! These things have a great seal and give out a good amount of toothpaste when you squeeze it. It wipes clean very easily. So glad they come with more than one but not sure what I'll use the other ones on yet." —Kimberly C.

    14. A set of reusable silicone straws with cleverly designed horizontal snap closures for easy cleanup, so you can go from guzzling your morning iced coffee to downing your afternoon peanut butter smoothie with ~ease~.

Promising review: "I never thought I’d be writing a review for straws, but here we are. These are FANTASTIC. I try to be as eco-friendly as possible but was ready to give up. I’ve tried metal straws, but they are tough to clean and I don’t love metal against my teeth. I’ve tried other reusable plastic and silicone options but they don’t work for thicker drinks like smoothies. These actually address all of my issues. I’ve used them for thick smoothies, that I drink daily, and just for other everyday drinks like water. They couldn’t be easier to snap open and clean, dry, then easily snap back into shape to use again." —M. Alexandria

Get a set of eight from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in five styles).

    15. Or a sleek, compact reusable straw keychain, so you can help save the environment AND make it that much easier to find your darn keys when you're rooting around for them in the abyss of your purse.

The container even comes with an itty bitty straw cleaner so you can get even more long-term use out of it — and, more importantly, a silicone tip so you can use it on warmer drinks or hot days that might heat up the metal.

Promising review: "I bought this in an effort to be less wasteful with the plastics and also because I can NEVER find a straw when I need one — and this knocked it out of the park!! The awesome oil-slick coloring on the straw? Amazing! It collapses and opens smoothly and the little telescoping cleaner brush is fabulous! Everyone in my office is jealous and now wants one too." —Ashe

Get it from Amazon for $4.76+ (available in 10 colors).

    16. A no-waste dish block that perches on the side of your sink for you to rub your brush into — it'll create suds that cut through residue and grease *and* keep all your dishes streak-free and squeaky clean (plus no more wasting plastic on dish soap!).

Promising review: "So happy to find the shipping material was also plastic-free. This is my first dish bar that I’ve tried and I’m really pleased! I cut it up into four so I don’t have the whole block out (cut with a serrated knife when it’s fully dry). I use it with a bristle brush and it washes nicely! Sufficient suds and cuts grease, too. I am sold and will fully switch from liquid dish soap to this." —MM

Get it from No Tox Life on Etsy for $9.98 (psst — this item ships for free!).

    17. A set of Bottle Bright tablets so you can banish all the sludge caked on your automatic kettle, coffee maker, or favorite ceramic mugs before you have to buy replacements.

Promising review: "I seriously can't believe how well these little tablets work. I had the most disgusting Hydro Flask coffee mug; I tried everything — bottle brush, different kinds of soap, vinegar, EVERYTHING — and there was still a seemingly impenetrable layer of black sludge inside. It grossed me out so much that I bought ANOTHER Hydro Flask to replace it. Eventually they both got black inside, so I tried these little magic tablets. I let a tablet sit in each of my mugs for an hour or two, and the black sludge rinsed out COMPLETELY, without even scrubbing. They look brand-new. What a magical product. No weird smell or taste afterward, either. I liked it so much that I used it on another Hydro Flask I use primarily to hold my Bloody Mary mix in the fridge. I couldn't put anything else in it because it would always taste like spicy tomato juice. Bottle Bright to the rescue! No residual smell or taste anymore. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING." —Amazon Customer

    18. A set of fridge organizers that will not only tame the jungle of your fridge's contents, but help you get through all your good produce before it goes bad — the clear containers give you enough visibility to keep an eye on everything before it has the audacity to spoil on you.

Transparent lid stretched over a bowl of noodles
transparent lid stretched over a yogurt container

Promising review: "I am freaking ecstatic about these lids, I am going to buy some more. First, of all, I will never ever purchase plastic wrap again. Secondly, I will never get mad again looking for a lid (I mean I have all the containers just no lids, I think it might be the place socks go to). Finally, they fit plastic and glass, are easy to wash, appear to be leakproof so far, and each one has what I would call pull tabs so what you are putting it on won't spill all over you (I'm only guessing). TikTok made me buy it."  —Amazon Customer

    21. The "Guac-Lock," aka the Fort Knox of guac — this airtight, specially designed container stops your guacamole from oxidizing, so when you make a big, delicious batch of it while your avocados are in their prime, you can steadily enjoy it over several meals. Reviewers mention it staying fresh for up to 10 days!

Promising review: "Rarely do I buy something that delivers 100% of what they claim it will. I'm happy to report that this completely lived up to my expectations. Truth be told, it works even better than I expected it to. I made a batch of guac a week ago. Two or three times during the week, I unlocked it, dipped a chip or two and then re-locked it. After a week, the guacamole is as fresh as if I made it this morning. I typically make a batch of guac each week and use it as a snack or as a spread on sandwiches. I also typically throw out one-third of the batch because it spoils before we can eat it. Not any more. I estimate the food I'm not wasting will actually pay for the Guac-Lock in about a month." —mhogan

Get it on Amazon for $23.99.

    22. A reusable Swiffer duster head to avoid allergy-inducing dust buildup in your home *and* save money on replacements. Bonus: This is made with a non-fraying fleece fabric built to pick up dust more effectively, and at a broader range than the OG version thanks to the static it naturally generates.

    23. Plus a reusable microfiber Swiffer mop pad reviewers love not only because it's ready for action again right after a wash cycle, but because it picks up a *ton* more dirt, gunk, and debris than the disposable mops do. Your kitchen floor is finally gonna shine ✨.

Promising review: "I bought these for the same reasons most do — to be more environmentally friendly. I like the size of my Swiffer Sweeper, but always felt like I wasn't getting my floors fully clean. We recently got a new apartment, and I always like to deep clean before we do any major moving. I used them dry and wet. I've always been disappointed with how the disposable pads from Swiffer (barely) picked up dog fur and crumbs, but as you can see in the picture it picked up so much! This was already after using a traditional broom. Then using them wet with diluted Mrs. Meyers cleaning concentrate — wow! The water was BLACK by the time I was all done with our downstairs area. They were so easy to Velcro on and off, wet or dry. Once I was all done, getting them off and doing a quick rinse wasn't hard at all. I love that I am supporting a small family business with all the convenience of Amazon. I will definitely buy again (if i ever have to). I am so excited to use these for years to come and have a cleaner house than I ever have before!!" —Kathryn Willer

Psst — if you don't already have one, you can get a standard Swiffer on Amazon for $14.99

Promising review: "I ordered a few different sets from this company and all seem really airtight so far. I like how they stack and am loving the label options. My pantry is looking really organized. Yay!" —Jackie

Get a set of 15 from Amazon for $30.99+ (available with blue, black, and clear lids).

    25. A pair of super-comfy period-proof underwear designed to hold two tampons' worth of period blood. Not only are these a great alternative to pads and tampons, they're also ideal for overnight protection (you can pair them with a pad if you have a heavy flow) and for people who are worried about ~leakage~ during sports or physical activities — I personally always wear period-proof undies when I go on runs on my period and it has been a MASSIVE godsend.

Also, unlike your regular undies, you don't have to scrub the blood out of these. They're designed so it rinses right out in the sink with soap and warm water, and can get tossed in the washer and dryer from there. You can read the rest of my review on Bambody period underwear for more deets!

Psst — reviewers love these undies, but suggest sizing up!

Promising review: "These are WONDERFUL!! They are super comfortable, soft, have a mild compression to them, breathable, great coverage, not bulky at all, and super absorbent!! You don’t get that metallic blood scent coming through either which I was super skeptical about. So the packaging states that they recommend using these as a backup to another period product like a cup, but I tested the hell out of these babies for my entire period as the only form of protection and left my cup in its drawer. I’m in my 30s. I’m not a super-heavy bleeder but I do have fairly heavy days. For the test I used one panty per day (24 hours) and never once had a leak, wetness feel, smell, felt uncomfortable, or had bulkiness. When I rinsed them out in the sink after the 24-hour test the amount of blood was astonishing. As you rinse it there’s definitely that old-blood kind of metallic smell. Then I just washed them on the gentle cycle and air-dried them. Super easy, does take a long time to air dry though. I’ll likely buy more so that I can have daytime and nighttime sets." —Becky

    26. A set of five machine-washable, rip-proof, suuuper-colorful grocery bags to replace your plastic and paper bags, now that a lot of states have policies to charge for disposable ones. Plus, these fold into neat little squares so you can easily keep them in your car, purse, or bag!

Promising review: "I’m very impressed with these bags. I took two of them into Target today for groceries, and ended up only needing to use one. These bags can hold a lot of items. They are strong, easy to clean, and fold up into the attached pouches within seconds. I store mine in my center console of my car. I have been promoting these to my friends and family, and they are already making purchases. These are worth every penny." —Cuesta Verde

Three mesh bags full of fresh fruit
    Amazon

Each of these is designed to last long enough to replace 1,000 (!!) plastic bags. You can also use them as small laundry bags, too!

Promising review: "Extremely happy with this purchase! Simple and effective. I love that they're not waterproof because I like to store small veggies, like snap peas and mushrooms, within the bags in the fridge; it keeps them fresh and avoids condensation. The drawstring doesn't have any type of locking mechanism, but they stay closed just fine from cart to checkout to home. I chose these specifically because they're super easy to see through, and the cashier doesn't have to open the bags to read the barcodes or see what's inside. Overall would purchase again, and hopefully convince my family members to make the switch too. Saves plastic, keeps food fresher, way stronger. You won't regret this purchase." —Juliann

    28. An internet-beloved time-marked water bottle you can get in a bajillion different colors so not only will you prevent plastic bottle waste, but you'll stay hydrated during the day without it feeling like a total chore. A lot of reviewers mention how easy it is to access the mouthpiece by popping a lil' button on the lid, too.

    green water bottle
ombre purple and blue water bottle

Promising review: "I love the finish on the bottle! I hate holding wet water bottles and this does NOT sweat! It also holds two full bottles of 16.9-oz packages water bottles so it’s very easy to get my full water intake on the go! Easy to carry, fits in my car's cup holders perfectly (not big at all like some water bottles). I got the ombré purple to teal and it’s very true to color. Easy to clean, wide enough for bottle brushes, and the straw stays put. I also love how I just push the little button by the mouthpiece and it just pops open quick for easy drinking (if you’re driving and don’t need to be messing around opening bottles 😉). Highly recommend this water bottle. For the price, it’s amazing! Keeps my water cool for hours, too." —Alicia

    29. A super-soft Makeup Eraser to cut down on soap and makeup pad use. This towel equipped with two sides — one that rubs away makeup using literally just water, and the other that gently exfoliates your skin. Plus the microfiber fabric is designed specifically to get gunk outta your pores, so it'll leave you extra fresh-faced.

You can also clean it by soaking it in water and leaving it to dry overnight! RIP, all those harsh washcloths you were dirtying up before. I recently was just gifted one of these, and it is legit astonishing how well it works — one of my favorite mascaras is so notoriously difficult to get off that even when I *think* I took care of it, I'll sometimes wake up with smudges under my eyes. This gets it off without even rubbing!! I just soak the towel and put light pressure on my eyeballs and the mascara wipes right off! Has saved me a lot of time (and dread, TBH — do you ever put off taking off your makeup when you're like, woof, this is going to take a century?). Highly highly recommend!

Promising review: "THIS. THING. IS. AMAZING. I have literally never had clearer skin. It does exactly what it says it does, erases your makeup. Waterproof or not, it all goes away with just a little water and a little bit of scrubbing. I will forever be amazed by this. Never buying another makeup remover product again." —Brittany

    30. A sleek rose gold waste-free safety razor — these are designed to last a lifetime, so you don't have to waste disposable ones anymore. The only thing you need to replace are the double-edged razor blades, which are designed to give you a close (gentle!) shave to prevent ingrown hairs and skin irritation.

Promising review: "This is my first safety razor; I could not stand the expensive, wasteful replacement cartridges anymore. The shaving has worked well for me as a beginner. I am no expert, but I would say this is a not too 'aggressive' razor, as it is quite hard to cut yourself with it. The illustrated user manual that comes with it is perfect to make sure to know how to use the razor at best. I am now slowly mastering this traditional shaving style and it is great. I like the blade-changing mechanism, which generally doesn't work its way loose, and I like the gunmetal color. The safety razor stand that comes with the safety razor is a great plus as it looks good and is very handy. As recommended, I purchased Astra Platinum blades with it, and change the blade every three months or so." —Corentin

Promising review: "So the first time I used these was for sandwiches and they stood the test of being leakproof with jelly. No leaks and once they were flipped inside out they cleaned up well too with no residue. So far these are perfect and I would recommend to anyone trying to save some money on plastic bags and save the environment a little at the same time." —Sammy

Promising review: "Loving using less paper. Got this product when transitioning to work from home. Amazon

Interested in composting but have no idea where to start? BuzzFeed made a super comprehensive beginner's guide to composting to help!

Promising review: "I love this compost bin! It is very well-designed. They actually tested all aspects of it. The one-handed operation is SO much better than having to lift off a lid like my old steel compost bin. The lid flips up/down very easily. The lid removes when you want to empty it out. The plastic inside is super smooth so there are no nooks or crannies for food to get caught. Most of the waste simply slips off and then you can just rinse it and you are good to go. I don't have to buy compost bags anymore either. There is no smell when it is on the counter. I was worried about it looking tacky on my counter because it is plastic, but is is so well designed that it even looks classy on my granite counter!" —Susan M. Millar

Psst — Ethique has different shampoo bars for various hair types and scents, and also offers conditioner bars.

Promising review: "I was in the market for a shampoo bar to combat dandruff so that I could switch to something natural, vegan, and good for the environment. So I did my research and found the Heali Kiwi bar by Ethique, and I am so glad that I did. I've been using Head & Shoulders for years but it left me with lingering itchiness, dry patches on my scalp, and frizzy hair. This shampoo bar has been a godsend that has combatted all of those problems! I was skeptical at first, but I noticed a difference with my first use. It smells amazing, lathers well, and my scalp feels healthy and normal for the first time in years." —Danielle Bray

    Amazon

Promising review: "I love this shampoo/conditioner bar case! Even though it is a little on the expensive side, it is worth every penny. Anyone who is new to using shampoo bars should know that it is important to have a container to keep the bars dry. If left in the shower, it will melt! Previously, I used a travel soap container, but I could not leave the other shampoo bar in the shower even in an enclosed container. However, Ethique’s container is a perfect solution as it allows water to drip from the bottom, thus keeping the bars dry. Plus, I can feel good about using an environmentally conscious product that isn’t tested on animals!" —Kristin

Promising review: "These are amazing!!! They work! And no stains!!! I was concerned that since I don’t use Dawn or a big-name-brand dish soap, my Earth-friendly soap might not cut the grease as well, but that was not the case! Promising review: "I thought these were slightly gimmicky, right up until I used it for the first time on some sunscreen. My plan going forward is to skip the pump and go straight to these; absolutely works to get leftover product out of a bottle for use, and also ends up creating a much nicer controlled stream of lotion (in this case) than a pump does. Highly recommend!" —The Evills
