    19 Tried-And-Tested Ways To Un-Fuck Your Closet

    Velvet hangers FTW.

We asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us their tricks for getting their closets organized. Here are the helpful results.

    1. Replace your hangers with a uniform set to make your closet look more organized.

    2. Hook tank tops on the attachable clips usually used for skirts or pants.

    3. Or push all of your clothes over to the right of your closet and rehang the items you've worn on the left.

    4. Digitize your closet to plan your outfit in advance without making a mess.

    5. Preset outfits so you aren't fumbling for a good pairing when you're trying to get out the door.

    6. Hang the long stuff to the left and the short stuff to the right, and sort by article of clothing.

    7. And stick your hamper underneath the short side to take advantage of vertical space.

    8. Fit rolled leggings and tights in the small intimates drawer, and sort them by color and material.

    9. If you're really shooting for the stars, place a finger in between hangers to make sure they're evenly spaced.

    10. Or layer your matches in drawers so you can just grab the top two or three items.

    11. Stick to a select few pieces that are well-made and versatile.

    12. Organize by color to find what you need at a glance and make your closet look more attractive.

    13. Hold multiple scarves on one hanger with shower curtain rings.

    14. Install (or hang) an extra closet rod so that your clothes aren't cramped.

    15. Fold whatever won't crease in storage cubes and keep them on the shelf above or underneath the hanging items.

    16. Use soda can tabs to stagger hanging items and save space on the clothing rod.

    17. Stick purses or flats in clear organization holders so that you can clearly see all of your options.

    18. Fold sheet sets and slip them into their respective pillowcase to keep them contained.

    19. Use the "reverse-hang" trick so that, by the end of the season, you know what you actually wear.
