14 Brutal Tumblr Posts Taylor Swift Has Liked Since Putting Scott Borchetta And Scooter On Blast Again

"Imagine stripping a woman of her life experiences ... her heart she spilled out onto countless pages for YEARS just because you’re a white man and know you can get away with it."

In case you missed the drama, Taylor Swift has put Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun on blast for the second time in less than six months.

You probably remember that back in June, Taylor expressed devastation that her former record label boss, Scott Borchetta, had sold the company to Scooter Braun for $300 million.

A couple of months later, Taylor revealed that she planned to re-record her masters in November 2020 when she's legally allowed to do so.

However, today Taylor has claimed that Scott and Scooter are effectively holding her music hostage, preventing her from performing a medley of hits at the AMAs next week, and blocking her old music and performances from being used in an upcoming Netflix documentary.

Taylor went on to allege that Scott will only grant her permission to use her own music in the performance and documentary if she agrees to both abandon her plan to re-record her masters and stop speaking publicly about him and Scooter.

Shortly after releasing her statement, Taylor headed over to Tumblr where she liked numerous posts from fans expressing outrage. Here are just a few...

    1. "'Stop bullying me by publicly discussing all the abusive tactics I've used on you or I'll ruin your entire life,' is peak rich white man."

    2. "No other label does this to an artist when they swap labels. This is personal, it's unprofessional and it's fucking disgusting."

    3. "This is a full display of two men abusing the power they have because they CAN. I'm grossed out."

    4. "What's so fucked up is that when Lover was released, both Scooter and Scott tried to act nice and positive and tweeted nice things to make Taylor look like she's the bad guy."

For reference, here's Scott's post about Lover.

    And here's Scooter's.

Regardless of what has been said the truth is you don’t make big bets unless you are a believer and always have been. Brilliant album with #Lover. Congrats @taylorswift13. Supporting was always the healthier option 😊 #brilliantalbum #brilliantcampaign congrats

    5. "Imagine stripping a woman of her life experiences, her heartaches, her triumphs, her failures, her joy, her lessons learned, her words, her thoughts, her heart she spilled out onto countless pages for YEARS, just because you're a white man and know you can get away with it."

    6. "Imagine being so threatened by an artist and their success that you literally bully and manipulate them by refusing rights to music THEY made."

    7. "I can only imagine what happens to female artists who aren't at the level Taylor is, because if Scott and Scooter can do this to her what hope is there for anyone else?"

    8. "She doesn't deserve this, but more than anything she doesn't deserve it associated with the greatest honor of her career thus far."

    9. "It's genuinely horrifying that someone at Taylor's level of fame and power is still being manipulated and controlled in this way."

    10. "Taylor's been performing old songs at recorded/televised events. It becomes a problem when it's with the AMAs honoring her with Artist of the Decade, AKA the biggest recognition she can get."

    11. "To think that THIS MUCH is going on ... and the stuff Taylor has been going through just to perform SONGS SHE WROTE."

    12. "Someone please explain how performing her old songs on recorded TV equals re-recording her masters early? That's literally just blackmail to exert control over her."

    13. "This, however, does reveal how scared they are for her to re-record her music."

    14. "Make no mistake. The AMAs have just become the most important moment for Taylor Swift and the music industry. And she will speak up. And the music industry better be fucking listening when she takes that stage."

Spokespersons for Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have been contacted for comment.
