1. Josie and the Pussycats (2001)

Before there was The CW’s Riverdale, there was Rachel Leigh Cook ('90s queen), Tara Reid, and Rosario Dawson as a small town girl band trying to make it big with a record deal. They also save the world in the process, no biggie. But the fashion — THE FASHION — is definitely my favorite part.

2. The Sweetest Thing (2002)

Cameron Diaz, Selma Blair, and Christina Applegate are the friends you wish you had as they go on a cross country road trip to find the one that got away for Diaz. The bright outfits in this movie are fantastic and the montage scene that spoofs movie makeover montages is *chef’s kiss.*

3. Scooby-Doo (2002)

Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne and Linda Cardellini as Velma are your ultimate Halloween costume inspirations. Daphne does head-to-toe purple almost as well as Elle Woods does pink, and it’s enough to make you want your own purple halter dresses and tube tops for every summer party.

4. She’s the Man (2006)

Some of the humor admittedly didn’t age well, but real ones know the scene set to Shaggy’s "Hey Sexy Lady” was peak entertainment (and way before those sparkly Pedro Pascal edits went viral on TikTok). Viola, played by Amanda Bynes, serves ultimate late '00s fashion as both herself and as her interpretation of her brother.

5. What A Girl Wants (2003)

Full of Amanda Bynes' arguably most iconic fashion looks, this movie will have you yelling “Thank you London!” and wanting to flip your evil step-mom-to-be’s heinous forced-fashion into a dress worthy of a jaw-dropping entrance.

6. Stick It (2006)

This movie was Mean Girls for gymnasts, and had us all wanting to flip off of the balance beam all the way up to the Olympics. Missy Peregrym was the gives-no-effs baddie skater who I like to think Billie Eilish channels through her fashion.

Lindsay Lohan serves glam in EVERY scene of this movie. Follow her on her quest to get her good luck back from Chris Pine, who stole it with a kiss.

8. The Perfect Man (2005)

Hilary Duff is a Manhattan teen catfishing her mom out of love (and because she’s sick of moving every time her mom gets dumped). Duff teaches us that the only acceptable answer to prove your cool thrifting aesthetic when someone compliments your shoes is, “I pulled them out of a garbage can somewhere in Portland.”
