Hi, I'm Elena and I love, love to shop! It's actually my job. I spend all day shopping, trying to find the best of the best on the internet, and then share all those findings with you, lovely reader.

This leads to a lot of things! 1) Me buying way more things than I probably should and 2) Me having no money.

Well, guys! Take a seat, because do I have a doozy for you!! It all started when I complimented my colleague's super-cute outfit, to which she promptly responded, "It's Rent the Runway!"

MTV

Whaaaat? I'd heard of Rent the Runway, but I'd always associated with renting a dress or two for a wedding or event.

So, I did some investigative journalism and learned everything about a little thing Rent the Runway calls their Unlimited Plan — and 👏 it 👏 is 👏 amazing.

instagram.com

Guys. I am about to change your life.

Here's how it works: You get four cute AF pieces at a time from their massive inventory of designer pieces (think Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler, Tibi, Kate Spade, Marni, Christian Siriano, Draper James, Opening Ceremony, Iro, A.L.C., Oscar de la Renta...I could go on and on).

You can search said massive inventory through their extremely easy-to-use app. It lets you sort by size, occasion, style — a bunch of different criteria. You can even sort the reviews to see what people who are similar in size and body type think of the piece.

Rent the Runway

Bless these reviewers because they'll often let you know about fit, include pics, and even give you recs on how to style it.

They carry amazing clothes in a ton of sizes, but they also have jewelry, bags, sunglasses, and winter coats!

Rent the Runway

Check out this Anya Hindmarch backpack, these Oscar de la Renta earrings, and this Elizabeth and James coat — all included in your RTR Unlimited plan!

You can keep your four pieces for as long (or as little) as you want. Once you're done with them — one, or two, or all — just ship 'em back and you can rent more! There is no limit to how many times you can rent or for how long you can keep any piece.

Let's say you rent an awesome winter coat, two cute dresses, and a sweater... you can keep the coat ALLL WINTER LONG, switch out the dresses whenever you want, and maybe keep the sweater a little longer or for just one wear!

Shipping is included, and everything you need to ship your items back comes neatly packed in the garment bag they send to you.

Your goodies arrive at your desired shipping address (some people I know ship their pieces to their office; I ship it to my home since I have a doorman who can grab them for me). They'll come in a handy little garment bag, and every piece has its own hanger. Inside the garment bag is a return label you can just plop into the pocket on the front of the garment bag when you're ready to send back some items. It's so easy!

And if you live near one of their boutiques, you can even go "shop" in-store and return the pieces you're done with while you're there.

Our offices happen to be a few blocks away from the New York shop, but honestly, I rarely go there because shipping pieces back is just SO easy.

It costs $159 per month ($99 for your first month with code FIRSTRTR), which, yes, isn't chump change — but I've saved so much money since signing up for this service.

My entire wardrobe for the last six months has come from Rent the Runway, and I love it. I can try new styles, trends, and experiment with things I may not have wanted to commit to or spend a bunch of money on.

Would I have ever bought this Proenza Schouler button-down dress? Probs not! But it was fun to wear a fancy brand for a day and then never have to think about it again.

I'm telling you, this plan has changed my life!!! I get complimented almost every day on my outfit, I spend basically no money on all that fast-fashion nonsense that would normally fall apart and fill my closet — oh, and my Instagram #OOTD game is 🔥!

Like literal 🔥!

I would never be bold enough to invest in a Christian Siriano dress like this. For one, it's out of my budget. Two, where the hell am I going in it? But when I went to Las Vegas for a weekend, I rented one and LOVED IT!

When I first signed up I was a little skeptical, so I'm sure you are too. Mostly because I love buying things! I love OWNING things! Honestly tho, I don't feel like I don't own these pieces. I keep them for as long as I want, return them, and then re-rent them if I want to wear them again. It just feels like I have a giant rich-people closet in another location that I can call upon when I need it.

Need a dress for a wedding? They've got a plenty! Cozy sweater to curl up with while the weather transitions? Done! Statement earrings to throw on with your favorite T-shirt and jeans? Of course! Causal jacket to layer with while you search the streets of San Francisco for the school from The Princess Diaries? The evidence is above.

Also, Rent the Runway lets you buy the pieces at a super discount — so if you really fall in love with something, you have the option of buying it at a pretty decent price!

Now, you may be asking yourself, But are the clothes clean? Yes! They literally come in dry-cleaner bags and I've never experienced a piece that didn't look practically brand-new (in fact on more than one occassion I got pieces with the new tags still attached).

NBC

Oh, and if you were wondering — RTR is super concerned about the environment so all the plastic bags your clothes come in are totally recyclable!

Also, I just can't say enough about my newfound closet space. I live in a tiny-ass New York apartment with, like, negative closet space, so on top of giving me new looks for every day of the week, it's also saving me a ton of space.

Guys, I really love this plan. It's probably the best thing to happen to my closet since...ever!

Warner Brothers

Seriously, try it out for the one month where they offer the discount. That's what I did, but I fell in love and now I'm never looking back.

Sign up on Rent The Runway for $99 for your first month ($159/month after).

Bravo

Feel free to thank me later!
