Every single time I go out to the car, I keep pulling the car handle while I wait for my mom to unlock it. Eventually, I realize that it's MY car and I had to be the one to unlock it. I usually stand there, yanking the handle, for a good two minutes before I realize.
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. It was reassuring to know that the feeling of being trapped in hopelessness when you're about to lose a loved one isn't abnormal. All the emotions the main character felt made me feel less alone. It was like I got to grieve with someone.
