Ryan Gosling's Tribute To Debbie Reynolds Proves What An Inspiration She Was

"She was an inspiration to us every day."

Iconic Singin' in the Rain star Debbie Reynolds died on 28 December, just a day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher.

Celebrities around the world took to social media to celebrate the lives of Reynolds and Fisher, and to express their sadness at news of their deaths.

I can't imagine what Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds' family are going through this week. I send all of my love.

And on Monday Ryan Gosling, star of La La Land, paid a heartwarming tribute to Reynolds while accepting the Vanguard Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Gosling credited Reynolds for inspiring La La Land, particularly mentioning her work in Singin' in the Rain.

I wish I could've said this in person, but I'd like to thank Debbie Reynolds for her wonderful career of work. She was an inspiration to us every day. We watched Singin' in the Rain every day for inspiration, and she was a truly unparalleled talent. So I thank her for all of that.
