If you're one of the very few people on the internet who hasn't seen this video in the last two days, allow me to introduce you to Rami Malek declining a fan's request for a video shoutout, aka the most awkward thing I've ever seen:
People who were brave enough to watch the video more than once (aka braver than me) immediately turned it into a meme, and the results were obviously incredible.
But while I laughed at all the memes and tried to avoid the second-hand embarrassment of watching the video for a second time, I was wondering, "What does Rami himself think about all of this?"
And now thanks to an investigation by the people of E! News, we know what Rami thinks of the whole situation.
"I am who I am and people can interpret that how they want," Rami told E! at the Bohemian Rhapsody premiere in LA. "I love the fans, I wouldn't be here without my fans and I try to take as much time as possible."
"Sometimes, when you've been travelling around the earth a couple times, you try to just be protective of your time as a human being," he went on.
Honestly, fair enough. And he did say he was finding all the memes funny, so he's in good spirits about the whole thing.
