Here's Everything You Need To Know About Justin And Hailey Bieber's "Vogue" Cover Story

"There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out."

This morning, Vogue unveiled their brand new March cover starring none other than newly-married couple Justin and Hailey Bieber.

The couple have been pretty private since they got married at a New York courthouse in September last year, and the interview that accompanies the cover gives a rare glimpse into their relationship. Here are all the things we learned...

1. Despite the rumours, Hailey wasn't actually a Justin Bieber superfan before they met, became friends, and eventually started dating.

While they did initially meet after Hailey's uncle, Alec Baldwin, got her tickets to see Justin perform, she denies that she was ever a particularly big fan.

“I was never a superfan, of him or of anyone,” she told Vogue. “It was never that crazed, screaming thing. I didn’t think about it in any kind of way except for the fact that he was cute. Everybody had a crush on him.”

2. They did date briefly back in 2016, but that part of their relationship ended with a "very dramatic excommunication".

"Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through," Hailey said of their first attempt at romance. "'Fizzled' would not be the right word – it was more like a very dramatic excommunication. There was a period where if I walked into a room, he would walk out."

3. Justin and Hailey believe their relationship works well because of the fundamentally different ways they handle their emotions.

Apparently, while Justin is ruled by his emotions and follows his heart, Hailey is more likely to think things through, and says she "struggles to be in touch with her emotions".

4. The couple attend therapy to help them with healthy communication, and sometimes they practise arguing "without being unkind".

"We don’t want to lose each other," Justin told the magazine. "We don’t want to say the wrong thing, and so we’ve been struggling with not expressing our emotions, which has been driving me absolutely crazy because I just need to express myself, and it’s been really difficult to get her to say what she feels."

5. When they first got married, Hailey felt there was pressure from people on social media who were "rooting for them to fail".

She explained that, while people may think she rushed into the decision to get married, she actually prayed about it for a long time.

“I prayed to feel peace about the decision, and that’s where I landed,” she said. “I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time.”

6. The couple waited to have sex until after their wedding, and Justin admits that was one of the reasons they got married so quickly.

By the time he and Hailey started dating again, Justin had been celibate for over a year after developing a "legitimate problem" with sex addiction.

"I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul," he explained of his decision to abstain from sex. "And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior."

7. They know they're young, but they say they're "learning as they go" and are "committed to growing together and supporting each other".

"We’re coming from a really genuine place," Hailey said. "But we’re two young people who are learning as we go. I’m not going to sit here and lie and say it’s all a magical fantasy ... But there’s something beautiful about it anyway — about wanting to fight for something, commit to building with someone."

8. Oh, and Justin calls Hailey his "baby boo".
