15 "Criminal Minds" Hot Takes That Has This Baby Girl Rethinking The Entire Series

Spencer Reid did not deserve all that trauma.

TRIGGER WARNING: This article contains content about fictional crime cases that involve, but are not limited to: drugs, sexual assault, and murder. Reader discretion is advised.

My entire personality can be summed up into two categories: my obsession and hot takes about said obsessions. My obsession at the moment is all things crime, specifically the acclaimed series, Criminal Minds.

So, we had members of the BuzzFeed Community share their spiciest Criminal Minds opinions — here are some of the most divisive takes:

    1. The writers put too much on Reid's plate:

Reid speaking into a mic saying, this is calm, and it's doctor

In the series, he became addicted to drugs, overcame that addiction, watched his girlfriend get murdered right in front of his eyes, and spent half a season in jail for a crime that he did not commit (and that's just the tip of the iceberg).

Reid doing drugs and then in a prison jumpsuit

    2. On the topic of Reid, the team did NOT do enough to help Reid with his addiction:

Reid staring at himself in the mirror while carrying a bag and coffee

It was very clear that he was struggling/not doing well and the team didn't do nearly enough to help him.

    3. JJ was the worst member of the B.A.U.:

Like, she was just "meh" as a character and was the least interesting over all.

    4. Will and JJ were awful for one another:

It felt like every aspect of their relationship was a challenge rather than two people in love.

Will asking JJ if she's ashamed of their relationship

    5. Elle did not deserve all the hate she received:

Did she murder a man? Yes. Was that man a known serial rapist and killer who was going to rape and kill again? Also yes. Have characters done the same thing when in her position? Triple yes.

    6. Season 7 felt like a natural ending for the series:

Emily was leaving to go to Interpol and JJ and Will got married at Rossi's house and it was a nice and happy ending!

    7. Gideon was...kind of an asshole?

He gets a lot of love in hindsight, but in actuality, he was rude and pompous and wasn't really a team player.

    8. Garcia and Morgan's relationship should have been explored:

Derek and Penelope saying they love each other before hugging

Like, you can NOT have all that sexual chemistry just for it to remain platonic.

    9. Morgan should have taken lead of the B.A.U. after Hotch's exit, not Prentiss:

    10. Alex Blake was a mediocre addition to the team AT BEST and no one was sad to see her leave:

    11. JJ confessing her love to Reid was ill-timed and disrespectful to Will:

    12. Garcia is the only reason why the B.A.U. is able to solve any case:

They give her the widest parameters to track down an unsub and get upset if she takes too long or if something slips through the cracks.

    13. Luke and Garcia made a better duo than Morgan and Garcia:

a thumbs up on Luke and Garcia and a thumbs down on Garcia and Morgan

    14. Hotch was more of a villain than a hero:

Hotch seemed to give off serial killer tendencies and it didn't help that he rarely smiled. After the death of Haley, he changed for the worse.

    15. Lastly, Emily and JJ were in love with each other:
