Jordyn Woods Had A Great Week, And So Did These 8 Other People

Jordyn DID that!

1. Jordyn Woods announced she'll be making her acting debut on this upcoming season of Grown-ish.

2. Kahlil Greene became the first black student body president of Yale University.

3. Director F. Gary Gray received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Gray directed iconic films like Friday, Straight Outta Compton, and, my personal fave, The Italian Job. Congrats, F. Gary!

4. The new Lion King posters have been released.

If the movie is as majestic as these posters, then we're in for a GOOD TIME!

5. The new All That cast was announced and will be coming to our screens on June 15!

6. Ava DuVernay dropped her highly-anticipated miniseries, When They See Us, on Netflix.

I've been emotionally preparing to watch this series for months. I already know it's going to be a good one.

7. Lonnie Bunch III made history as the first black person to lead and oversee the Smithsonian Institution.

Mark your calendars, y'all!

9. Last, but not least, everyone's fave hip hopera, Carmen, is coming to Netflix on June 1.

It was so hard to keep this a secret! As a proud member of the hive with an appreciation for the early '00s, I’m happy to announce that another @Robert_Townsend classic, Carmen: A Hip Hopera will be coming to @netflix (US) June 1.

This movie was my JAM! Can't wait to watch it at least 7 times when it drops.

Wow, what a week. Tune in next week for more!
