The year is 2010. I am a high school lass who's obsessed with teen romance novels and not much else. Fast-forward to a decade later, and not much has changed, aside from my age. Needless to say, when Netflix dropped the trailer for its newest teen romance with a holiday twist, Dash & Lily, sleigh bells started a-ringing!
The series is based on Rachel Cohn and David Levithan's YA novel Dash & Lily's Book of Dares, which I read and reread in my teen years.
The series follows the titular Lily (Midori Francis), who leaves a cherry-red notebook in the shelves of her favorite bookstore — the Strand in New York City — for a handsome lad to find and accept her ~book of dares~.
Little does Lily know, Dash (Austin Abrams) — who is lacking in Christmas cheer — finds the book, and thus starts their adventures of dares throughout the city, and rumblings of romance through leather-bound pages.
This series had me at "Hello," but when I saw that Austin Abrams from Euphoria was cast as Dash, it shot straight to the top of my anticipation list.
all hail ethan, my tired af sadboi king #EuphoriaHBO #EuphoriaFinale
I also loved Midori in Good Boys.
