Apparently This Is What Jaime Truly Meant When He Was Like, "Peace, I'm Out" To Cersei

"I don't believe you."

Now that we've had a few days to mull over the epic Game of Thrones Season 7 finale, it's time to talk about an important breakup — I'm talking, of course, about the breakup of everyone's favorite twincest team Jaime and Cersei Lannister.

For a quick recap, our heroes from The North and Dany's gang finally got that damn wight to Cersei. She got scared, but not scared enough to join forces with everyone else against the Night King and his army.

Tyrion attempted to convince Cersei one last time, thought he did, but then that lying B was all, "JK! I'm not helping you, I'm fucking evil, remember?!" Then Jaime was like, "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! Fuck this, I'm fucking out of here." And Cersei was like, "If I can't have you, no one will!" and proceeded to sic The Mountain on him.

And then Jaime said this:

And we were like, "Wait, what does that mean?"

Did he mean "I don't believe you'd actually have The Mountain try to kill me," "I don't believe you're acting like this," or "I don't believe in you anymore"?

Well, for some clarification, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime IRL) Spoke with HuffPo and had this to say about it.

Is “I don’t believe you” saying “I don’t love you” or “I don’t believe I’m going to die.” My subjects as an actor was “This is it. I don’t believe in you anymore. I don’t believe in this, you and me. I don’t love you anymore.” That’s how I played it.

You guys, this interpretation comes straight from the (probably) Valonqar's mouth — he meant "I don't love you anymore."

And you have to think, the way Coster-Waldau interpreted the line would PROBABLY be in sync with what the showrunners had in mind too, right?

Of course, the actor couldn't TOTALLY confirm this and was very clear in explaining it's just how HE took it: "Now, I’ve done that before and then you find out that’s not what they intended, but, you know, that was kind of my intention that that was it."
