Here's What Life Was Like In 2005 — The Last Time LeBron James Didn't Make The Playoffs

April 2005 was a LONG time ago.

If you haven't heard, the Los Angeles Lakers are all but mathematically eliminated from postseason contention, meaning FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2004—2005, LeBron won't be in the NBA Playoffs.

Obviously things were A LOT different back in April 2005, so let's hop in the time machine and see what life was like the last time LeBron James missed the playoffs.

    1. First of all, YouTube had JUST been founded a couple months earlier!

    2. The highest grossing movies of the month were Sin City ($29 million) and The Amityville Horror ($23 million).

    3. The top song on the Billboard Hot 100 was "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent and Olivia.

    4. George W. Bush was in the early part of his second term as President of the United States.

    5. Three days after the last LeBron-less playoffs began, The Office's Season One finale aired.

    6. You or someone you knew probably had a Motorola RAZR V3 — one of the best-selling phones ever, that was highly popular around this time.

    7. The iPhone DID NOT EXIST YET. In fact, the first iPhone wouldn't be released for another TWO years.

    8. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the best-selling book of 2005, wasn't published until three months after the last Lebron-less playoffs started.

    9. Carrie Underwood was in the process of winning Season 4 of American Idol.

    10. TWITTER DIDN'T EXIST.

    11. Instagram was far from existence!

    12. Facebook was still called "thefacebook."

    13. Netflix was delivering DVDs, but hadn't begun streaming video yet.

    14. Hulu didn't even exist!

    15. Aubrey Graham wasn't making music as Drake, he was starring on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

    16. And here's one last shocker — the iPod shuffle was a NEW piece of technology, having just been released a couple months earlier.

All we can do is say, "Wow" and accept the fact that time is flying and we shouldn't take watching LeBron compete in the playoffs for granted moving forward!
