Keke Palmer Is Going Viral Again After Genuinely Failing To Recognize Mulder And Scully From "The X-Files"

"And who the hell are they?"

So, this week, Keke Palmer has been on a press run for Nope, the upcoming Jordan Peele movie starring her, Daniel Kaluuya, Steven Yeun, and Brandon Perea.

They did a video for Vanity Fair reacting to fan theories about the film — which appears to focus on supernatural events happening at a California ranch.

“I bet we see Scully and Mulder,” Palmer read from a card. Visibly confused by the names, she paused before asking her co-stars in the most serious voice, “And who the hell are they?”

    Immediately me:

It's not necessarily that she didn't know who they were — I didn't immediately recognize the names either. But her whole demeanor during this moment is killing me.

Keke was informed by her co-stars that they're characters from the sci-fi show The X-Files, but that still didn't ring a bell to her. "Why would we see them?" she wondered before pushing the rest of the cards out of her sight. Iconic.

This, of course, calls to mind the time in 2019 when she also failed to recognize Dick Cheney while taking Vanity Fair's lie detector test.

"I hate to say it, and I hope I don't sound ridiculous, but I don't know who this man is. I mean, he could be walking down the street, and I wouldn't know a thing. Sorry to this man," she said, instantly making her a trending topic and birthing memes for days.
