Jason Derulo, Taylor Swift, and “Let It Go” from Frozen go pretty well together.
“Want to have a how-many-chins-can-we-make contest?”
On their website, its “The Perfect Body” slogan now reads “A Body For Every Body”. But the campaign against the “body shaming” posters is far from over.
Critics are appalled at what they believe is the fashion label’s attempt to introduce plus-size models.
Healthier waistlines for them and healthier self-esteem for us growing up.
She’s not the biggest star in Hollywood, but by flipping the usual career arc — and career expectancy — for leading women of a certain age, she may be one of the most important.
“What I want to focus on are people of color in my films, and specifically women,” Beyond the Lights writer-director Gina Prince-Bythewood told BuzzFeed News. “They’re never an easy sell.”
I’ve always been a fan of weddings. They’re a beautiful symbol of taking a relationship to the next level - whether it’s an intimate gathering, a spectacle, or somewhere in between. But the key word there is relationship. Without a relationship, a wedding is unnecessary, right?
Well, a Japanese company called Cera Travel is trying to prove that theory wrong.
For the price of about $2750, Cera is selling a “solo wedding” package. They started the company to service divorcees and career-focused women with the wedding celebration that they have yet to experience in their lives. In the span of two days, they go through all of the activities that traditional brides typically have months or years to complete.
The single-bride-to-be arrives in Kyoto and goes to a dress fitting straight out of Say Yes to the Dress. She picks out her flowers. She figures out her hair and makeup scheme. She takes part in a photo shoot — either by herself or with a hand-picked male model to make it look more “authentic.” It all wraps up with a honeymoon night in a fancy hotel.
Ten women have reportedly signed up for their own solo weddings. No word on what the demographics are for those women. I know the service is meant for older women who thought they missed out on that special day and wearing the “most important dress” they’ll ever choose (man, I’ve watched way too much Say Yes to the Dress). But who’s to say this won’t spiral into women who are fresh out of college signing up for a wedding after not finding a college sweetheart.
My friend and I were just discussing when we think the interest in the ever-growing wedding industry is finally going to pique. If this solo wedding experience becomes a craze, my guess is that will be the beginning of the end.
We’ve all been on a dinner date, looked at the menu, and thought, “What’s the right move here?” There are certain foods that just scream “not sexy.” Here are the top 5.
This link is a post that went up on my website - thequestionable.com - today and has been going viral amongst my Facebook network! We have 1,000 Facebook likes and over 8700 page views.
We think it’s something that Buzzfeed would really enjoy. Who doesn’t love fantasizing about dating a fictional, animated character? We’d really love your support in running the copy or posting the link.
Thanks so much!
These aren’t total guesses. These are real life.
