Goldie Hawn Is A National Treasure So I Rounded Up Her 8 Best Movies

Death Becomes Her should be required viewing.

My childhood (thanks to my parents' excellent taste in movies) was blessed with the great, the talented, the beautiful, Goldie Hawn. I'm here to remind you of just how wonderful she is — here is a list of Goldie's best movie hits that you should've started watching yesterday.

1. Private Benjamin

Goldie always fights the patriarch in the classiest of ways. She came, she saw, she inspired. Don't mess with Goldie. Plus, we get Eileen Brennan in the mix.

2. Seems Like Old Times

One that is often unheard of: Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase together are comedy gold. Plus we get Charles Grodin (RIP!) who will always be the dad from Beethoven to me.

3. Wildcats

Guys...Goldie Hawn is a football coach, once again fighting the patriarch while being both funny and beautiful. Add in a young Wesley Snipes, a young Woody Harrelson, and also Jsu Garcia (hello, Rod Lane from A Nightmare on Elm Street) and we've got ourselves a hell of a team.

4. Overboard

The one and only! The opportunity for us to see Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in their prime, together, as an on-screen (comedic) romance is not to be missed. They are pure bliss and I'm not afraid to admit it. Is the plot line bizarre? Yes. Do we care, not one bit.

5. Death Becomes Her

Kurt and Goldie are a tough on-screen partnering to beat, but if anyone can do it, it's Meryl and Goldie. The effects are incredible for 1992, plus you also get Bruce Willis. I don't want to shame you if you haven't seen it already, but seriously, go, now. Like right now.

6. The First Wives Club

Grab your college roommates and watch this movie (because that's what me and mine did). How can you describe this movie and not use the word "trifecta." Goldie + Bette + Diane = true love. My god were the '90s the absolute best.

7. The Banger Sisters

Ok I am realizing as we continue, that Goldie is just always so perfectly paired: big shout out to all of the casting directors, but specifically this one. Three words: Rock Cock Collection. I also just personally love Geoffrey Rush's character in this movie. Plus you randomly get an appearance by Buckcherry before "Crazy Bitch" was even written.

8. The Christmas Chronicles

Did I think the 2010s would be graced with Kurt and Goldie reuniting on-screen? I did not, and neither did my mom who flipping loves this movie. Guys, Goldie made a Christmas movie and it allowed us to intro her to a completely new generation. What a gift.
