18 Fucking Creepy Premonitions That Actually Came True

You can't make this shit up.

We asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us the weirdest and scariest premonitions they've ever had. Here are the fascinating results.

    1. The beam dream:

"My Nan once had a dream about a woman standing at the end of her bed, telling her to move my mum and aunt out of their room. She had the dream for three nights before she finally told them. The next night, the roof over their bedroom collapsed and a massive beam dropped right across their beds. When she described the messenger to my Papa, it turned out the woman was his mother who'd died when he was young."

    2. The big bang:

"One night at about 4 a.m., I got the oddest feeling to go make sure all the downstairs windows and doors were locked. I double-checked, and two of them were unlocked. About an hour later, something SLAMMED against the front door, and when that didn't work, tried to push open the windows. I never found out what it was, but thank goodness I had that overwhelming feeling."

    3. The bus blunder:

"I'm very close to my best friend, and one day while on my bus home from school, she called me frantically telling me to get off. She said she imagined my bus having some kind of freak accident. I thought it was so strange, but quickly boarded the next bus anyway. Turns out I had to wait, due to another bus that had just had an accident. It was the one I was just on. I'm not a believer in these things, but this incident really shook me."

    4. The owl omen:

"One night I glanced at this ceramic owl that was on the edge of one of my shelves, and I remember thinking, ‘If an earthquake happened, this would fall off and break.' That night, I was woken up by a violent, 6.0 earthquake with my house right in the disaster zone. I checked, and the owl had fallen off the shelf, just as I had thought about hours earlier."

    5. The dryer disaster:

"I was finishing my chores while my brother was at home with me, and my mom was down the street. I put a load of clothes in the dryer, and was about to go out when something in my head told me, 'Tell your brother the dryer is on.' It'd been making a weird noise for weeks and hadn't been fixed yet, but I didn’t tell anyone it was on. I left, and 20 minutes later got a frantic call that my brother just barely made it out of the house with all of our pets. The house was full of black smoke and extinguisher powder. Don’t ignore your gut!"

    6. The purple premonition:

"A week before Prince died, I had a dream where I woke up, checked Facebook, and saw that Prince had passed. I SWEAR. It was so real that when I awoke, I asked my husband if Prince had died. A day later, Prince’s plane had to make that emergency landing, and a few days after that, he'd passed."

    7. The work worry:

"Once I got a really weird feeling out of nowhere that I should quit my job. I wasn't sure why, but the feeling was so strong that I just did it. Get this — the place I was working at burned down a few days later! A few people got hurt, but luckily, no one died."

    8. The naptime nightmare:

"I work really early hours, and sometimes when I get home I nap. One Wednesday in December I came home and slept, and dreamt that someone I knew personally was dying by choking to death. That Friday I learned on the news that a friend of mine from high school was found strangled to death in his office. He was killed that Wednesday, around the same time I had the dream."

    9. The Friday farewell:

"My grandmother was really sick my freshman year of high school. The doctor and my mom warned me she probably wouldn’t make it to my birthday, Valentine’s Day, and I promptly told them, 'No, she’s going to die on Good Friday.' I’m not religious at all, but she was. And I was right — despite the fact she was extremely ill, she held on until 3 p.m. on Good Friday, just like I said."

    10. The hubby hero:

"In 2013 I dreamt I had a stroke and was desperately trying to explain to my husband what was happening. Two years later, I woke up in the middle of the night on my couch, with my husband and roommate looking at me, concerned. I sat up, my left side was in full paralysis, and I tried to tell my husband to call 911 because I was having a stroke. He couldn’t understand me, but thankfully he'd already called because while I was unconscious, I had a seizure. It turns out I had a brain aneurysm rupture and only minutes to get to a hospital and in surgery. The whole thing was so disturbing."

    11. The dog devastation:

"One night during my high school years, I was getting ready for bed. My dog was outside lying on the patio, and when I said goodnight to her and she looked at me, I just knew she was going to die. I told my parents that something was wrong, and they just laughed. The next morning I got up and stood at the garage door and just cried. I couldn't open the door because I knew she would be lying there. Sure enough, I found her dead."

    12. The robbery relief:

"There was a lot of ice in Dallas, and schools were closed, so I called my boss to see if I could bring my daughter to work. She was 10 at the time and I didn’t feel right leaving her alone. After driving for a bit, something started nagging at me in my head, so I took her back home with strict instructions on how to stay safe. As soon as I opened to door to my work (a check-cashing place), my coworker and I were robbed at gunpoint. I am so glad my daughter was NOT there."

    13. The cousin case:

"A few weeks ago, I was freaking out — although absolutely nothing had even happened yet. I just had an awful feeling. I kept telling my boyfriend I didn’t want to go through whatever was about to happen. Now, I have bad anxiety and sometimes I work myself up, but this felt different. My cousin ended up dying in an awful car crash two days later, and it shook me and the entire foundation of my family."

    14. The phone freak-out:

"When I was 17, my boyfriend would call me every day when he got out of class — I mean every single day, like clockwork. One day I came home, had an uneasy feeling, and felt the need to call him first. I wasn’t sure if he'd answer since he was usually in school at that time, but I kept calling and crying hysterically. I didn’t hear from him until way later that night, because it turned out he had a seizure and was in the hospital. It was the strangest thing ever."

    15. The fiery fiasco:

    16. The pole problem:

"I dreamt I was in a car crash. In the dream, a red car went through a stoplight and hit my car so hard that I hit someone else, who hit the guy next to him, and made him crash into a pole. A week later, I was sitting at a red light when it turned green. My gut told me to wait and not go. Suddenly, a red car came zooming from the intersection, ran the red light, hit the car next to me, and hit the car next to him, running him straight into a pole. It was some serious Final Destination stuff and I still get chills thinking about it."

    17. The sister situation:

"I was traveling in Italy when I suddenly woke up at 2 a.m., worrying that my sister back in California was in danger. I frantically called her and my parents. She didn't pick up, because she later told me that right when I called, she was getting her oil changed. The man who had assaulted and stalked her the year before pulled into the very same parking lot. She ran into another building and waited until he left. We’re almost certain he did this on purpose to intimidate and frighten her. But I mean, all of this happened at the same time I was having this premonition, and I felt it on the other side of the world."

    18. And the dark, dark dream:

"My sister had a dream that some boy got killed in our neighborhood. She had never seen this boy before or knew his name. Two days later, there was news coverage about a boy — the boy from her dream. It was my mom's friend's son, and he was stabbed to death in real life. So creepy."
