16 Current TV Dramas That People Say Are 100% Worth The Watch

    Put your binge-watching pants on.

Recently, we asked the BuzzFeed Community which currently airing TV show they think more people should watch. We got too many responses for just one post, so here are just the dramas that people recommend!

    1. Good Girls

    NBC

"It stars Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, and Retta. It’s funny, clever, and full of suspense and drama. One of my favorite shows. It’s got three seasons available on Netflix and airs the current season on Hulu."

"It’s truly an amazing show with great writing that really focuses on details... It’s a female-focused crime show with a lot of humor, drama, suspense, and a love story I’m so invested in it’s unhealthy. You never know where they’re gonna go with the storyline and the sudden plot twists and it just makes you keep guessing. Absolutely on my top favorite shows!"

    2. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"It's an amazing show, but I NEVER hear anyone talking about it. Now that Disney+ Marvel shows are a thing, it was really kicked under the rug. It can't compare (nothing can compare to these shows though) to Wandavision or Falcon and the Winter Soldier since those projects have HUGE budgets and are as well-created as they would be if they were a movie, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a wonderful show and teaches you so much more about SHIELD and the people who run it. If you are a fan of the Marvel movies you know that Hydra infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D., and AOS shows so much about that storyline. Also, the characters are so lovable. Seriously some of my favorites."

"I don’t watch commercials so I don’t know how heavily they’re promoted but I don’t see much attention online. Love them though. They’re fast-paced shows that are somehow lighthearted and touch on serious topics at the same time. They’re a nice weekly escape and have such likable characters."

"I always say every episode makes you feel the entire spectrum of human emotion in the best possible way."

"It perfectly explores what could’ve happened if the Soviets had landed on the Moon before NASA. The episodes are rather long (some can reach an hour or so), but it’s needed to explain and introduce you to these characters and this timeline. Trust me, if you press play, you won’t regret it."

"I hated Grey's Anatomy and assumed that I was done with medical shows. I watched New Amsterdam because a friend recommended it to me and I love it! It’s so real and so interesting and so well made and well acted. I agree it seems awful when you watch the trailer and read the summary but it is FANTASTIC! Every episode focuses on a social issue, some physical issues, and some personal issues with the characters (who by the way are really well-developed and human). Love love love this show and recommend it to anyone who has a soul."

"It's such a cool concept but it's flying under the radar."

"It's a lot of fun to watch and the music is absolute gold. Anything Kenny Ortega does is like magic, which is why it's very surprising that Netflix hasn't announced a second season yet. I highly recommend it as it's just a very wholesome show that is a joy to watch again and again."

    8. The Bad Batch

    Disney+

"The Bad Batch is a very new show that I wasn't expecting to love as much as I am, and I feel like it's overlooked because it's animated and on Disney+."

    9. The Last Kingdom

"It’s always touted as the IRL Game of Thrones, but it’s so much better! All the characters undergo development in ways that actually make sense and I won’t deny being emotionally devastated at some of the deaths! They are currently filming the fifth and final season."

    10. The Resident

"It's super entertaining and has such a diverse cast. Not to mention its continuous focus on the mistreatment of people of color within the healthcare system. It manages to educate its audience but not sound preachy or forced like with Grey’s Anatomy or other medical shows currently on-air."

"If you liked Parenthood or This Is Us, you’ll like A Million Little Things. Plus, it tackles topics many shows don’t, like the recent episode on grooming, and does so with such care."

    12. Mare of Easttown

    HBO

"Most every episode thus far I have cried out in joy and frustration... I recommend watching alone and having your therapist on speed dial."

    13. Lucifer

"I never expected to be so thoroughly enamored with a show about a crime-solving devil, but here we are. ❤️😈"

    michelleh430be4d5b

"I watched it on my friend's recommendation and usually I am not a serious detective show watcher but this show is so different. The whole evil to good devil concept, the enthralling stories, the relationship between Chloe and Lucifer. And ofc Tom Ellis's charm, his accent, his humor, and the way he calls out "detective." I mean I just started the fourth season and I am already worried about the show ending after Season 6, that's how awesome and obsessive this show is — but it's still so underrated, in my opinion."

    14. Pose

    FX courtesy Everett Collection

"Pose...all the way! Every episode makes me laugh, cry, and root for all of the characters (well, most of them). The characters make you feel for them in so many ways and more. The writing and the music on this show are amazing. In addition to the ballroom culture and history, you get history about the LGBT community along with history about HIV/AIDS. The history widened my knowledge and made me want to research more. Anyway, it breaks my heart that this is the last season because it feel like there are so many more stories to tell. However, I’m thankful for the show!! Go watch Pose and be all in your feelings!"

"I’ve loved Leigh Bardugo’s books ever since they came out, and the show did NOT disappoint. It’s got tons of diversity, interesting world-building, and compelling characters. Hopefully they renew it soon!"

    16. And Chicago Fire

"As a firefighter in training, it has been the most accurate show I can find to date of what actual firefighting is like (and I’m talking specifically about the calls they go on and the situations they are put on each shift, not all the other drama and everything that they like to throw in. But the house fires and the equipment and tools and methods — all extremely accurate of actual firefighting).
