Fantasia 2000
This sequel of sorts to the original Fantasia featured all-new musical segments accompanied by animation in varying styles. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 81% among critics and 75% among audiences.
This movie featured impressive CGI for the time, but critics lamented that the plot was "generic and dull." Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 64% among critics and 48% among audiences.
The Emperor's New Groove
This non-musical comedy featured David Spade and John Goodman in the lead roles, and has become something of a cult hit over time. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 86% among critics and 83% among audiences.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
This adventure flick flew under the radar a bit when it was released, but remains a favorite among a dedicated sub-group of Disney fans. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are a somewhat low 49% among critics and 54% among audiences.
Monsters, Inc.
This was Pixar's first release of the 2000s, and it was a big one, bringing in more than half a billion dollars at the box office worldwide. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 96% among critics and 90% among audiences.
Lilo & Stitch
This Hawaii-set Disney movie didn't soar to the same box office heights as other Disney flicks of the time, but it was still plenty successful considering it spawned both sequel films and a series. It became a beloved classic among Disney fans and was praised for its darker themes. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 86% among critics and 77% among audiences.
Treasure Planet
This outer space adaptation of Treasure Island had all the makings of a box office success, but it unfortunately flopped. Still, it has a dedicated fandom and is notable for pushing the envelope in terms of computer animation at the time. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 69% among critics and 72% among audiences.
Finding Nemo
Pixar continued its string of hits with this heartwarming father-son story, which was a smash both at the box office and with critics. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 99% among critics and 86% among audiences.
Brother Bear
This beautifully 2D-animated feature was the first Disney movie of the 2000s to receive a majority of negative reviews from critics. Its Rotten Tomatoes score is 37% among critics and 65% among audiences.
Home on the Range
While The Princess and the Frog ended up being Disney's final 2D-animated feature film, Home on the Range was the beginning of the end. This story of three cows aiming to save their farm was met with very poor reviews by Disney standards; its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 53% among critics and a mere 29% among audiences.
The Incredibles
It's kind of incredible (no pun intended (OK, pun kind of intended)) to think that this meta-take on superheroes hit theaters four years before the MCU started. The Incredibles was a big hit, and its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 97% among critics and 75% among audiences.
Chicken Little
If Home on the Range was a critical flop, Chicken Little was a disaster. This adaptation of the classic fairy tale still debuted #1 at the box office, though, and brought in a little over $300 million total. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 36% among critics and 47% among audiences.
Cars
Pixar's movie about anthropomorphic cars was a commercial hit, spawning two sequels and the Planes spinoffs. Its reviews were slightly worse by Pixar standards; its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 74% among critics and 79% among audiences.
Meet the Robinsons
This tale of a boy genius who time-travels to the future was a slight bump in the positive direction for Walt Disney Animation Studios, even though the movie only broke even at the box office. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 67% among critics and 74% among audiences.
Ratatouille
Perhaps one of the most beloved movies in Pixar's library (and certainly the most memed), Ratatouille was a massive commercial and critical hit. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 96% among critics and 87% among audiences.
Wall-E
This visually poetic story of a robot in love charmed audiences and critics alike, and while its box office haul wasn't quite as high as Ratatouille's, it was still a success. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 95% among critics and 90% among audiences.
Bolt
Disney recovered lost ground with critics with the release of Bolt, a story of a Hollywood superstar dog who thinks he's actually a superhero in real life as well. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 89% among critics and 74% among audiences.
Up
This Pixar flick solidified its place in pop culture history with an absolutely devastating opening sequence and plenty of heart to follow. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 98% among critics and 90% among audiences.
The Princess and the Frog
This was Disney's final 2D-animated feature film, and it was a gorgeous one. While the box office numbers weren't as high as other Disney flicks that followed, it marked a change for the studio out of the lackluster early '00s and into the very prosperous 2010s. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 85% among critics and 74% among audiences.
Toy Story 3
The third installment in the Toy Story series maintained the high standard that the first two movies set, both in terms of quality and box office success. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 98% among critics and 90% among audiences.
Tangled
This adaptation of the classic Rapunzel fairy tale was a visual stunner, and made bank at the box office as compared to previous Disney offerings. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 89% among critics and 87% among audiences.
Cars 2

Winnie the Pooh

Brave

With humor that works for kids and adults alike, Wreck-It Ralph was a commercial and critical success that spawned a sequel. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 87% among critics and 86% among audiences.
Monsters University
Whenever you create a sequel to a classic, there's always going to be the question among critics of "Did this movie need to happen?" The answer with Monsters University appears to be "yes"; its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 80% among critics and 81% among audiences.
Frozen
This was the hit that Disney had been waiting for: It earned $1.2 BILLION at the box office, had a radio hit with "Let It Go," and sparked a merchandising bonanza. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 90% among critics and 85% among audiences.
Big Hero 6
Notable for being the first animated Disney movie using Marvel source material, Big Hero 6 made a solid profit at the box office and spawned a TV series that ran for three seasons. There is also a Baymax series set to premiere on Disney+ this year. The Rotten Tomatoes scores for Big Hero 6 are 90% among critics and 91% among audiences.
Inside Out
It's the Pixar movie that asked, "What if feelings had feelings?" Inside Out was praised by critics and audiences for its personification of mental health, which in turn has helped give kids the tools to talk about their feelings. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 98% among critics and 89% among audiences.
The Good Dinosaur
While this tale of a dinosaur going on a journey to reunite with his parents (along with the help of a Neanderthal boy) was Pixar's first financial flop, it was far from the studio's worst-reviewed movie. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 76% among critics and 64% among audiences.
Zootopia
This allegorical mystery movie — which focuses on a bunny cop and a con-man fox as they attempt to unravel a conspiracy in their animal city — features a strong message about prejudice in a package that kids can understand. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 98% among critics and 92% among audiences.
Finding Dory
A sequel that came a mere 13 years after the original, Finding Dory turned out to be worth the wait for critics. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 94% among critics and 84% among audiences.
Moana
After a brief break from Disney Princesses, the Mouse came back with this musical adventure epic that draws on Polynesian culture. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 95% among critics and 89% among audiences.
Cars 3

Coco
This emotional Pixar film centering on Día de los Muertos won both Best Animated Picture and Best Original Song at the Academy Awards, and rightfully so. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores match those accolades at 97% among critics and 94% among audiences.
Incredibles 2
It took more than a decade, but we finally got a sequel to The Incredibles. And as sequels go, it held up nicely; its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 93% among critics and 84% among audiences.
Ralph Breaks the Internet
Building on the success of Wreck-It Ralph, this sequel took Ralph and Vanellope and set them loose in the world of the internet, leading to many jokes and references that will probably look pretty dated 10 years from now. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 88% among critics and 65% among audiences.
Toy Story 4
The fourth installment in the Toy Story franchise was an emotional one, providing something of a wrap-up for the main cast of characters. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 97% among critics and 94% among audiences.
Frozen II
This sequel was another box office hit, solidifying Frozen's pop-culture impact even though critics didn't love this second film quite as much as the first. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 77% among critics and 92% among audiences.
Onward
This twist on a magical fantasy setting (in which magic has gone by the wayside and mythical beings like elves and centaurs use technology instead) hit theaters right as the pandemic was taking hold in the US, causing it to underperform at the box office. Soul
Pixar's story of a jazz musician who has a run-in with the afterlife was released directly to Disney+ due to the pandemic. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 95% among critics and 88% among audiences.
Raya and the Last Dragon
This adventure epic with Southeast Asian influences featured gorgeous animation and an all-star voice cast including Kelly Marie Tran, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina, and Sandra Oh. It Rotten Tomatoes scores are 94% among critics and 97% among audiences.
Luca
Centering on a pair of "sea monster" children who are fascinated with the human world, Luca struck a chord with audiences as a Disney+ release while conveying an important message of acceptance. Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 91% among critics and 86% among audiences.
Encanto
And finally, Encanto. This musical with original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (who also wrote the songs for Moana) became a social media phenomenon, thanks in large part to "We Don't Talk About Bruno." Its Rotten Tomatoes scores are 91% among critics and 86% among audiences.
