We recently took a look at a viral Reddit thread that asked people to tell the story of when they realized their significant other was "The One." These sweet stories sparked even more great responses from our very own BuzzFeed Community! Here are just a few of the most romantic stories:
1. This romantic line:
"We were at the beach visiting my uncles who have a house in Rehoboth, Delaware. We were on the carousel on the boardwalk, each on our respective horse, when he reached for my hand. He took my hand, gently squeezed it, and said, 'I can’t wait to tell our kids that I fell in love with their mom on a carousel in Rehoboth beach.'
It was the most wonderful thing anyone has ever said to me. It truly felt like I was in a movie. I fell in love so deeply that weekend, and I never looked back."
2. This incredible listener:
"I was having a rough day and went over to his place after work. He listened to me complain and then, without a word, got up and put Bridesmaids on. I asked what he was doing, and he said that he knew that, when I was upset, I liked to watch Bridesmaids because it always cheered me up...a fact I had mentioned in passing. He had gotten a copy of the movie from a friend to keep at his apartment for whenever I was down. I hadn’t even noticed I said that, but he did."
3. This well-deserved day off:
"I was a single mom to three young boys and worked two jobs, so a day off was rare for me. I usually used those days to sleep in. So it was a big deal when I chose to go out with this guy on my first day off in six weeks. He took me to the desert to check out some slot canyons. I then fell asleep on the drive home. "I was in a really bad relationship at the time, and we were at some party. After being abandoned by my now ex, I went out onto the porch to drink alone while looking up at the stars. Suddenly, this person I didn't know came outside, pretty drunk, and we just started talking.
After a while of laughing and being completely captivated by everything they said, I suddenly thought, 'Wow. Okay. THIS is the person I'm going to marry.' I was never a believer in 'love at first sight' or anything...and yet, here I am, five years later, getting ready to celebrate our first anniversary as a married couple."

"On his first day at work, he turned around and smiled at me. I was always very cynical about 'love at first sight,' but turns out it was real. I saw his face and it felt like coming home. We’re nearly at five years together now. I can’t imagine my life without him. It truly felt like my whole life, I was missing a part of myself, and didn’t even know it until I met him."
11. This food sharer:
"My now-husband of nine years decided to join my mom and me during Black Friday shopping. We were just friends at the time. When we got hungry, we went to eat breakfast at some restaurant. I could tell that he didn't like his food and, without thinking about it, I offered to switch plates with him. This was MAJOR because I do not like to share my food. When my mom saw me do it, she knew. It still took me a while to admit my feelings, but he's been 'The One' since that moment."

"He was new in the office and — seconds after meeting him — I went into a coworker’s office and jokingly told her, 'I’m in trouble, I’ll never get any work done now!' Two years together and he’s still just as distracting at home as he was that first day in the office."

Shortly after, her boyfriend's best friend came in to check on me. He told me to lie down on his couch, and he gave me a bottle of water. He then proceeded to play the guitar for me and read me a poem he was working on for his English project. We had hung out before, but never just the two of us. He didn't judge me, or make me feel crazy or ashamed. He just kept me company and did his best to distract me while I calmed down. It was then, 12 years ago, I realized this man was my special someone. We are now happily married."
14. This long-distance love:
"He lived in London, I lived in Minnesota, and we were doing long distance. I was on my way out the door to pick him up from the airport when my dad called. He asked me what I was up to, and I said, 'I’m going to pick up Nick and then we’re coming back to our home.' My dad laughed and said, 'This one is special.' I realized what I had said, and knew in the next second that we'd always be 'home' if we were together. He proposed four months later, and we’ve been together 20 years now."
15. This sweet clean-up:
"I get nosebleeds every time the seasons start to change, and the day I met my girlfriend after months of talking online was no different. We were watching a movie and snuggling. I thought my face was sweating from the warmth of our cuddles, so I checked it, but I had a massive nosebleed. The second she saw, she immediately snapped into action and, without complaint, she cleaned up and didn't treat me any differently or make fun of me like others had. Now, over 10 years later, we're still together and engaged!"

"He was the new kid in our auto shop class. I was one of only three girls in the class. One of the girls dared me to go over and ask him his name. So I did. I walked back over to her and told her. She sent me back over to ask where he was from. This kept going the entire class, back and forth. About three days later, after getting to know him, I told the girl, 'I'm going to marry him.' She joked that I needed to make sure I sent her an invitation to the wedding.
Well, I did. She couldn't attend because she was out of state going to college. He and I have been married 33 years this November."

We had danced together the whole night when, suddenly, he told me he couldn't dance the last dance of the night with me, and 'hoped I'd understand.'
