13 Series To Binge With The Hufflepuff In Your Life

Invite joy into your heart.

1. Parks and Recreation

Every Hogwarts house is represented in this show, but ultimately it's an unerringly sunny series about a woman whose hard work and perseverance sees her dreams come true both in work and beyond. That's Hufflepuffian to a T.

The entire series is streaming on Netflix.

2. Jane the Virgin

The CW

With all its aquas and pinks, Jane the Virgin feels like wading into a warm bath. It provides us with all the drama of a telenovela, but is balances out by all the comedy and heart of Gilmore Girls.

The first season is streaming on Netflix.

3. Supergirl

Supergirl herself is a Gryffindor proud and true. But the energy of this show is pure Hufflepuff: Sunny, kind, and devoted to the tenet of fair play.

Available for streaming on the official CBS app.

4. Gilmore Girls

Warner Bros.

The Gilmores themselves are hardly Hufflepuffs, but the Hufflepuff in your life will likely find the world they inhabit soothing. It's cozy, and it always feels kind of like autumn.

The entire series is streaming on Netflix.

5. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

There are raw materials in this show that scream Slytherin – Titus, Jacqueline – but the light at the center of this show is the light at the center of Kimmy.

The first (and soon to be second) season is streaming on Netflix.

6. Adventure Time

Cartoon Network

This series is all earnestness, all friendship, and all heart. What more do you need?

The series is available to stream on Hulu Plus.

7. The Flash

The CW

One friend described The Flash as "by far the most starry-eyed superhero show." And while Hufflepuffs certainly care about justice, the ways this show operates within questions about heroism is far more Hufflepuffian than, say, the pure Gryffindorian energy of a Daredevil.

The series is available to stream on Netflix.

8. Broad City

Comedy Central

This show could fit into multiple houses, but think about what it comes to: It's the story of the deep and abiding friendship between good-natured and smart women. They're tough when they need to be or just when they feel like it. They're unafraid of the toil of being an underpaid twenty-something in the city. And they have a patience and dedication with each other that is unmatched.

The first season is available to stream on Hulu Plus, with the most recent season on Comedy Central's site and app.

9. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

This show is all about hard work and heart. It works within the established structures and tropes of classic sitcoms – but it does it the Hufflepuff way. Let it delight you.

The entire series is available for streaming on Hulu Plus.

10. New Girl

Look, New Girl is Hufflepuff personified, for better or for worse. And it's not just Jess or that dreaded term "adorkability" – every one of these kooks make the Hufflepuff common room what it is.

The first four seasons are available for streaming on Netflix. The most recent episodes are up on Hulu Plus.

11. Charmed

Warner Bros.

Charmed is a very special brand of hero story, and it's all heart and crop tops. There's the usual hero stuff – shit goes down, hearts get broken, the price of the greater good is reckoned with. But Charmed also has a certain silliness, a certain gawky, er, charm. And gawky charm is as Hufflepuff as it comes.

The entire series is available to stream on Netflix.

12. Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy is the hardest of the Shondaland shows to sort, in part because it's gone through so many eras. But twelve seasons in, Grey's Anatomy knows what it is at its core – it's a show about humanity and resilience. It's about everything that you can endure, and about the bumpy, warped beauty of finding your way back to who you want to be. Arguably no character has ever been through as much toil as Meredith Grey.

The entire series is available to stream on Netflix.

13. Bob's Burgers

INDULGE YOUR INNER, LOVABLE WEIRDOS. With these particular, peculiar lovable weirdos.

Most of the series is streaming on Netflix; the most recent season can be found on Hulu Plus.
