24 Small Things To Help Your Food Last So Much Longer

Make your food work for you.

    1. A miraculous Rubbermaid plastic container with FreshVent technology to regulate the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide to keep your fruit or vegetables fresh for up to two (!!) weeks.

    2. A pack of reusable vacuum zipper bags you can use with a handheld vacuum sealer to not ~suck~ out the life of your meat and cheese slices and keep them tasting fresh longer.

    3. A dish you ~butter~ believe will help keep your butter nice and soft (and fresh) so you never have to spread hard butter on toast again. Oh, the luxury!

    4. A Splatypus to help you scrape the sides and bottoms of all your jars, because if there's delicious peanut butter left, you better believe that I'll find a way to get it on some toast.

    5. An avocado saver you'll basically want to hug after you use it because it will keep your avocado from browning, which is one of the worst parts of buying (in my opinion) one of the greatest foods.

    6. And a guac-lock container to keep the guacamole you make with those precious avocados from turning brown overnight.

    7. A salad spinner that'll get all the moisture out of your lettuce so your greens don't go bad immediately after you open them. *shakes fist in the air*

    8. A set of airtight containers you'll cereal-isly love when you wake up in the morning starving and can have (not stale) breakfast in a matter of minutes.

    9. A Stasher reusable silicone bag that will not only help you reduce your plastic use (and feel good about doing your part for the environment), but also keep your produce fresh longer in the fridge or freezer.

    10. A wine saver with two vacuum stoppers to reseal the bottle for the times when it's not in your best interest to finish the whole thing by yourself in one night.

    11. A lemon saver that won't make you ~sour~ when you go to add some lemon to your tea and realize it's bad. This will keep it fresh and ready for use for weeks.

    12. A Vejibag vegetable crisper made with reusable, organic cotton that when damp, keeps vegetables (including lettuce) moist and crisp for up to two weeks. *crunch, crunch*

    13. A wire fruit bowl for anyone who goes ~bananas~ when they see that their banana has magically turned brown in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping. They'll ~hang~ around longer when they're suspended in the air.

    14. A set of airtight food storage containers to keep your pantry stocked full of fresh food because there's not much worse than spending all day thinking about eating a specific cookie and then realizing it's stale.

    15. An Airscape ceramic canister designed with specific technology to force air out to keep the coffee inside fresh and ready for you whenever you need it.

    16. An Herb Savor designed to not only triple the lifespan of your fresh herbs, but also fit in your fridge door so as to not take up too much precious real estate.

    17. A freezer tray to store the extra herbs you buy when your recipe calls for four tablespoons of fresh parsley...but the grocery store only sells it in bushels meant to serve hundreds.

    18. A Bluapple produce extender that works for three months to keep your produce from wilting so you can still have fresh fruits and veggies even if you haven't gone to the store in weeks.

    19. A cheese keeper because while you *could* eat an entire block in one sitting, it would probably not brie the best idea. This container allows both hard and soft cheeses to breathe and not dry out so it's just as delicious as the day you bought it for much longer.

    20. A set of food huggers that fit on both produce *and* cans or jars, so you don't have to throw away that half can of black beans you don't know what to do with.

    21. A bread box because, just like Oprah, we love bread – especially bread that doesn't go stale in one day. The lid on this is not airtight, to give the bread the space it really needs to breath and stay crisp.

    22. A sack made of light-blocking cotton to protect your root vegetables (potatoes, onions, shallots, etc.).

    23. A pack of eco-friendly beeswax food wraps that'll replace your need for plastic wrap. All you have to do is use the warmth of your hands to mold the wrap over a bowl, container, or food, and as it cools, it will create a seal to protect it and keep it fresh for weeks.

    24. And a chip bag sealer that uses heat to create an airtight seal on all your chips, crackers, freezer food bags, and more to stop staleness in its tracks.
