Here's Who Spotify Thinks Is Going To Win Eurovision 2015

Hey, Sweden.

Who should you put your money on to win Eurovision? Here the top ten most streamed songs on Spotify – which could be a useful guide to how Europe might vote.

Spotify compiled the data to exclude streams from an artists's home country (because, of course, they can't vote for themselves) – so it's probably a pretty good guide to which songs Europe likes most in advance of the final.

But then again, Spotify wasn't the best guide to how people would actually vote last year – it only had Conchita Wurst coming in eigthth place, and tipped Denmark's entry to win (they eventually came in ninth).

Also, yesterday we looked at which artists were the most Googled in each country across Europe (which predicted a bit win for Russia.)

1. Sweden – Måns Zelmerlöw, "Heroes"

Måns is also the bookies' favourite to capture the third Scandinavian win in four years. Big chorus. Opening line is "Don't tell the gods I left a mess."

2. Australia – Guy Sebastian, "Tonight Again"

Australia's entry is obviously attracting a lot of attention, what with them NOT BEING IN EUROPE OR ANYTHING. Upbeat, budget Bruno Mars vibe. Stands a decent chance.

3. Estonia – Elina Born & Stig Rästa, "Goodbye To Yesterday"

Look like the protagonists of a moody French drama about a disillusioned academic's increasingly emotionless sex life. Decent tune, which could probably soundtrack a moody drama about a disillusioned academic, etc.

4. Spain – Edurne, "Amanecer"

Edurne pictured here in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Classic big-voiced Euro ballad, also getting a fair bit of Google attention.

5. Belgium – Loïc Nottet, "Rhythm Inside"

Also quite popular among Europe's Googlers. By Eurovision standards, this is a pretty experimental track. Lyrics include the line "We gonna rapppabab tonight", which ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

6. Norway – Mørland & Debrah Scarlett, "A Monster Like Me"

You would not fuck with these guys if they accused you of spilling their drinks in a bar. Quite a sweet gentle little song though, before it goes all DRAMA at the end.

7. Russia – Polina Gagarina, "A Million Voices"

"We are the worlds people / Different yet we're the same / We believe / We believe in a dream." Classic Eurovision lyrics there.

8. Israel – Nadav Guedj, "Golden Boy"

Nadav Guedj, last seen forcefully explaining to you why you're not being allowed into a club in Basildon.

9. Albania – Elhaida Dani, "I'm Alive"

"You shut down my dreams / But I’m not gonna cry / You live within me, that’s why I’m alive." This song is about some kind of symbiotic parasite/host relationship.

10. Italy – Il Volo, "Grande amore"
