queljour 3 months agoThe problem with this post is that it promotes partisan sentiments that inevitably lead to close-mindedness. Regarding the gif that implies that Obama’s plan to curb the deficit is more spending- so? Ever heard of Keynsian economics or the multiplier theory? That is not a partisan issue- it is math. I do not support all of Obama’s policies, in fact I don’t think he stresses enough the need for stimulus. But fiscal austerity decreases GDP in times of economic recession or depression- this is a fact that is not up for debate. Just look at Spain or Portugal or Greece, where austerity measures have been implemented and the economy actually becomes worse. I encourage who does not understand the appropriateness of government stimulus in this case to take a macro-economics class.

cameronr6 3 months agoPeople use conservative and liberal as insults…..why? Both sides have demonized each other to the point that any sort of rational discourse seems damn near impossible. Get off your high horses and realize both sides of this argument have some serious, serious flaws and try and find some common ground.

GracieGator 3 months agoMy goodness, such animosity in the comments! There is absolutely nothing wrong with showing both sides of the coin. There are probably hundreds of politically charged articles on here that come from a liberal perspective, and as a moderate leaning conservative, I can still get a chuckle out of them. If I find one offensive, I get over it because it is just opinion, same as this article. This website is intended to be fun, not a battle ground. So everyone who’s in a huff about this needs to just RELAX…you’re not making liberals look good by making such hateful comments.

Rep & Dem are the same people within the Congress/HOR & Administration, the same things will get completed no matter who is in office. For you to assume one side is sane and the other isn’t…is complete idiocracy. Get off the internet and help someone within your community so you can be part of the solution.

benjaminc5 3 months agoMinimum wage jobs are for teens and young adults to get job experience. They are supposed to be transitory. No one is supposed to be able to live off of them. It’s RIDICULOUS that someone would expect more then that from a job that pays minimum wage in the first place.

locoono 3 months agoWell my mother, who by the way took the initiative to improve her own life by getting a PhD, had to work part-time for minimum wage while doing so because she was too over-qualified for most other jobs and cause she still had those pesky kids to take care of while, you know, bettering her life.
