Your party is known, after all, for your sympathy towards women, people of color, LGBT folks and the poor who often have little voice in the real world were a government composed largely of rich old white men making decisions about their lives. But feeling left out on the internet. That must suck.

It’s interesting how everyone turns into a political genius when someone writes an article like this. Everyone believes their comment is insightful and thinks people standing on the other sides views are completely preposterous. People constantly regurgitate crap they hear on either Fox News or MSNBC, depending on which political party’s Kool Aid they are drinking.

Buzzfeed, why are you demeaning yourself by posting these horribly analyzed articles? First we get analysis that says the next Democratic presidential candidate will be black because blah blah blah something something. Then we get some completely misguided reasoning as to “things Obama (did not) do that Bush also did yet liberals support them now) and now we get this? 1. No one should have been caught off guard that Obama was reelected, unless you … actually believed Hannity, Limbaugh, and Dick Morris? 2. I don’t even know what this mean. Some compare him to Reagan, but he’s more Clintonian - which is better anyway. 3. Like when your conservative friends boo everything Obama does….? 4. Academic studies show it does help. But we won’t let fact checkers get in the way of this article, now will we? 5. Keynesian economics, oh no! 6. (see 5) 7. I actually don’t know what this means. 8. Then don’t watch it. I watched Bush’s, because I’m not a child, but to each his own. 9. Is it better or worse than the Tea Party Kool-aid? 10. I have the similar reaction to “when a conservative loves something Bush did, but hate it when Obama does it” 11. Then find new friends….? 12. (see 11) 13. Like….what policies? I can’t think of any - economic at least. And I have a similar reaction to Tea Parties who blame Bush policies on Obama (the recession, TARP, stimulus, deficit spending) 14. We have more of a demand problem. Spending isn’t too much higher than when Bush was in office so….see 13. 15 & 16. Like when Tea Parties sight the Constitution and the Founding Fathers for …. everything? And claim Obama doesn’t understand it - despite being a constitutional lawyer… Yep, you’re right. 17. Are “personal freedom” a side affect of Tea Party Kool-aid? 18. I have a similar reaction to watching conservatives put their blind faith in the the infallible private sector and the mantra that “the government is the cause of all problems” 19. Yes, because Bush left us in such a perfect direction. 20. Tea Party talking point. Because…Reagan and Bush I never raised taxes. Ever. 21. Marco Rubio is quite the stellar candidate, eh?

13.) Like what? Do you mean the initial stimulus bill that conservatives have been trying to distance themselves from since it was implemented?
12.)Arguing that we shouldn’t abandon our elderly, poor, sick and handicapped is not the same as pretending that we don’t have a spending problem. Disagreeing about what needs to be cut from the budget is not the same as saying that the budget is in great shape.
13 and 14.) Really? I mean, that. Really? Conservatives are the only people who have read the Constitution? You get to claim dibs on the Bible and the Constitution?
15.) Another one we agree on. Except you see yourself as a beacon of freedom, putting your life on the line to defend America. And I see you as a dumbass in a costume who almost blew his balls off.
16.) Only liberals believe the government is the best equipped body to respond to specific problems. Which is why conservatives are clamoring to reduce the military budget.
17.) This doesn’t mean anything.
18.) The president cannot raise taxes. Congress passes a law to increase or decrease tax rates. The president can only sign or veto laws. Obama did not raise your taxes.
19.) Given the way conservatives had their asses handed to them in 2008 and 2012, I hope they can put forth a viable candidate in 3 years. Someone who has responded to the social changes in the US in the past 8 years. Someone who acknowledges that most people view laws against same- sex marriage are discriminatory and illegal. Someone who recognizes that the quickly growing minority population is going to have a profound effect on how the country reforms immigration laws, wage laws, health care benefits and the role of the social safety net over the next decades. Someone who believes that we need to protect ourselves from foreign enemies while simultaneously scaling back a bloated military budget. Someone who wants to find a middle ground between allowing business to grow and flourish while not making that growth at the expense of the average citizen. Someone who knows that 98% of women have used birth control, and we would like to keep the government out of any future decisions on if or when we get pregnant. Fuck man, let’s be honest here. You need a conservative who sounds a lot like Barak Obama.

I hate the fact that staunch Democrats and Republicans don’t realize the fact that the neither party’s extreme views have a chance at being successful. I would love to either see a complete end to political parties or else the emergence of a third party that represents the center. Realistically, our government needs to both reduce spending and also encourage businesses to remain in the U.S. We need to recognize and embrace social progress, but not trample individuals’ rights. To all the people who criticize members of either party, it is ridiculous that you lump all the people who voted one particular way into one stereotyped group. I think there are a lot of people out there who consider themselves a member of a particular party, but actually disagree with a bunch of the extreme standpoints.
