The Ordinary Princess by M.M. Kaye was a game-changer for me. The royal princess Amethyst is given all sorts of wonderful gifts at her christening, and her fairy godmother gives her the best gift of all: being ordinary. Now “Amy,” she still has wit, charm, etc., but is not stunningly beautiful like her sisters. She has her own life, her own adventures, and love. Truly reinforces that it’s what’s inside that counts, and that brains beat beauty any day.
I think I’m the Bee Girl from the Blind Melon ‘No Rain’ video.
Re: #5: How do you know the gender of squirrels? Are you really getting that close to them??
