For some reason—I think because I have been kinda down lately (the winter with its lack of sunshine really gets to me)—I have been reading the comments on GLBT-related articles lately. All the homophobia and hatred has been getting me down. Why am I doing this to myself? And then I read your comment—and you redeem a great deal of my faith in the human race. Thank you.  Gay kids are killing themselves because homophobic schmucks dominate the discourse Re: gay rights. The message that “If you are gay you are a perverted, evil sinner who will burn in hell forever” is consistently reinforced—from early childhood on. If you tell me that I am worthy of death enough times, I just might pull the trigger for you.  It is time for us as decent people to stand together and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You don’t get to use your “Christian morals” (talk about an oxymoron) as an excuse to bully children into suicide. Shut your moronic mouths, you knuckle-dragging troglodytes. You are impeding our progress as a species.

OMG with every “nailed it” I laughed harder. Thanks for making me almost pee myself after the past three days of depression and misery. I had a big ol’ sad. This post cleared it up somewhat.
