Those saying that the mannequins are not meant to be realistic models are missing the point. The fact that they are made vaguely humanistic to appeal to aesthetics, then altered to appear unhealthily thin is the issue here. If the makers don’t mind going non human with the color and lack of a head, why go so far to include collarbones? It promotes a culture of overt thinness as the norm. Two arms? Check. Two legs? Check. Protruding ribs?
