20 Moments That Made "The Good Wife" Season 6 Premiere The Best One Yet

The CBS drama definitely isn't cooling down with age, despite Will Gardner's absence.

    1. Things start right where they left off last season and — to the surprise of many — Alicia (Julianna Margulies) immediately and emphatically declines Eli's (Alan Cumming) humorous offer.

    2. And just when you think the entire episode is going to be devoted to getting Alicia to change her mind, Cary (Matt Czuchry) gets arrested!

    3. At the same moment Cary is being arrested, Sophia (Kelli Giddish) calls Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) for the first time in years to see what she's up to.

    What a coincidence!

    4. Cary spends the night with his right hand tied to a man with a very sensitive stomach.

    5. And he misses the breakfast meeting with Alicia and Diane (Christine Baranski) to discuss Diane joining Florrick, Agos & Associates.

    6. Smart Cary sees a Lockhart/Gardner client and tries to get a message to the outside world about his incarceration.

    7. And the not-so-bright client kind of relays the message.

But luckily, Kalinda is there to figure out who's secretly hidden back there.

    8. Alicia warns Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter) about Cary's arrest, but he doesn't seem too concerned.

    9. And Kalinda works her magic with the system to visit Cary.

    10. In preparation to jump ship to Florrick, Agos & Associates, Diane tells Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) and David Lee (Zach Grenier) she's "retiring."

She's pulling a Florrick & Agos, secretly pulling her clients to the new firm. Oh, the irony.

    11. Eli, never one to take no for an answer, does some polling to see how Alicia would fare in an election for state's attorney.

    12. Eli's amazing daughter, Marissa (Sarah Steele), is the only one at the office courageous enough to ask the intern if she's wearing panties.

    13. Alicia and Finn (Matthew Goode) try to remain friends, even though Finn is the ASA prosecuting Cary and he has Alicia thrown off the case.

    14. So, Diane agrees to step in as Cary's lawyer, even though Louis and David are very suspicious of her every move.

    15. One of Bishop's guys cuts Cary's hand to make sure Cary is going to remain loyal to the drug dealer.

    I'm sorry, WHAAAAAT?!

    16. After said loyalty is proven, Bishop has another one of his men deliver $1.5 million in cash to Alicia's desk to pay Cary's bond.

Bond is $1.3 million, Robyn (Jess Weixler) corrects.

    17. Eli creates a fight between State's Attorney James Castro (Michael Cerveris) and Governor Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) in order to get Peter on board with Alicia running.

Now all Eli has to do is convince Alicia to run.

    18. Sophia kind of helps Kalinda, but also kind of proves that Cary might be screwed?

    19. And the ASA office calls out Alicia and Diane for getting the bond money from Bishop and asks for a hearing to prove it wasn't drug money.

    20. So, yeah, Cary is totally screwed.

Find out what happens to poor Cary when The Good Wife airs, Sundays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
