Response to Court Declines To Intervene After Girl Removed From Foster Family Under Native American Law:
You clearly didn’t read this properly. The family she is staying with isn’t Native American. The point of the Act is to prevent children from being separated from their biological families. She was a foster child. My aunt has
been a foster mother for very many years and I will say nothing was more heartbreaking than losing a child to their families but if the family home is suitable there should be no reason the child shouldn’t be with them. Her foster family should have made the transition easy for her and helped her ease into it instead of making it more emotionally distressing. That was unfair of them. My aunt always reminded her foster kids she loved them and that this was for the best. She never fought the system. Now Lexi will be united with her sister. And family members that have made a conscious effort to be a part of her life.
