Degrassi has always been amazing for diversity and representation — portraying so much acceptance in terms of racial, financial, sexuality, disability, and mental health differences.

And as iconic as the many LGBTQ characters that have graced the halls of the Degrassi Community School are — all of them deserved at least a million hugs for the crap they had to go through!

Let's see if you agree:

1. Fiona + Imogen (Season 11 — Season 12)

One of the cutest pansexual/lesbian duos to be written, imo. Their breakup was so undeserved and so unnecessarily messy — I don't care if they ended things on good terms, they should've stayed together!

2. Riley + Zane (Season 9 — Season 11)

It's implied that they get back together in university, which is amazing! However, they went through absolute HELL to get there and it was just heartbreaking to watch. I'll always wish things could've been easier for them.

3. Paige + Alex (Season 5 — Season 7)

Enemies to lovers trope! ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE!! And then it all got ruined because Paige knew where she was heading in life and Alex felt left behind...almost got her fired... it was just really really sad.

4. Adam + Fiona (Season 10)

Okay so Fiona made Adam's body dysmorphia worse and in the process Adam got Fiona to accept that she's a lesbian...so, the relationship wasn't sustainable but they looked cute together for all of those three episodes. I also feel like they didn't deserve the partial trauma they caused each other.

5. Imogen + Jack (Season 13 — Season 14)

Nah, Jack was not a good girlfriend in the slightest... honestly kind of unhealthy more than a few times. Imogen deserved better, but at least the relationship helped her grow.

6. Marco + Dylan (Season 3 — Season 7)

The slow-burn self discovery drama ship that deserved SO MUCH MORE than them breaking up while long distance! They need to pull a Mulligan. Immediately.

7. Tristan + Miles (Season 13 — Season 14; Next Class: Season 2 — Season 4)

I'm happy that Tristan got Miles to become comfortable with his bisexuality... I wish that Miles would've gotten Tristan to also be comfortable with Miles' bisexuality though. Tristan had to get over himself in some ways, let's be real. Miles had a super special redemption arc in my heart though, and is owed many apologies.

8. Zoë + Rasha (Next Class: Season 3)

HBO Max / CTV / MuchMusic

I'm happy for them, I'm happy they got to be happy in the end. WHY DID SO MANY BAD THINGS HAVE TO HAPPEN AT FIRST THOUGH?? Oh well, the first LGBTQ couple to win Prom Queens at Degrassi is a flex!

9. Finally, Adam + Becky (Season 12 — Season 13)

HBO Max / CTV / MuchMusic

Becky's parents were evil. Adam should not have died. They grew so much as people together. They deserved to have made it to the end together, and would've if not for the accident. We were all robbed. Adam should not have died!
