Amazing Snow Art

Holy Snowfl$kes it’s cold out. Just when we thought nothing good could come out of all these subzero temperatures, we caught (blustery, cold) wind of all the awesome art that’s been created during cold weather! From people making the most of the snow overdose to naturally occurring beauty, it’s a reminder that art really is everywhere. But seriously, can we make some sand castles soon or something?

British artist Simon Beck creates art works with his feet or to be more precise, with his snowshoes. It takes him about ten hours of vigorous walking to stamp out a design the size of three soccer fields, longer if it’s exceedingly large.

Three brothers in Minnesota had an idea: they were not just going to shovel their driveway and leave it at that. Instead, the teenage brothers Austin, Connor, and Trevor Bartz decided to do something unbelievable. The three stunned their neighbors in New Brighton, Minnesota by spending 95 hours over the course of 3.5 weeks building a gigantic, 20 foot tall snow shark in their yard.

When the temperature dropped to 16 degrees in Washington, Angela Kelly got a strange idea. She and her seven-year-old son mixed up some homemade soap and sent bubbles soaring through the air…in the middle of the freezing cold.

Talk about natural beauty! Winter gales on Lake Michigan encase the St. Joseph Lighthouse in thick coating of ice.

Even Threadless’ own Kyle Geib found art right outside his front door!
