Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, to those of us who grew up on WWE, wants to remind everyone that health is wealth.
On Friday, the actor posted a photo of himself getting acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medicine practice that consists of thin needles inserted into the body — in this case, The Rock's butt and back — to treat pain.
"Even though I look like a wounded, passed out drunk buffalo laying face down in prairies," he joked, "[I] can’t tell ya how grateful I am for these quiet healing/recovery moments."
The 48-year-old then revealed that he is recovering from multiple injuries, including "4 knee surgeries, Torn quadricep off my pelvis, Torn adductor off my pelvis, Triple hernia surgery, Ruptured Achilles’ tendon, [complete] shoulder reconstruction, 3 [lower] back disc herniations, [and] 2 [lower] back disc ruptures." Yikes!
No word on what caused all of his injuries, but we do know that The Rock has been working out rigorously for his upcoming role as the DC Comics antihero Black Adam.
He ended his cheeky post with another photo of his acupuncture treatment and added, "It’s the daily reminder that we only have one body and we gotta take care of it."
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Dwayne. By now we all know there's no injury that could stop you!
